On cask at London Pride, Terminal 2, Heathrow.
Sparkler-esque carpet over pale chestnut. 3.75
British nose: estery yellow apple, bready yeast, cracked grain and vague floral hops. 4
Toasted pan with butter, touch of applesauce and just the vaguest grass. 3.5
Maris Otter butter end and clean linger.
Light, soft, slight cling. 3.75
Tough to take this on its own merits today: tastes like second runnings after 2 days of San Diego IPAs. More about the malt, which is quality. But if you call it a golden ale, there should be some hops. And there really aren’t, even allowing for 3.6%. 3.75
