Rerate, keg half pint at The Lamplighter, St. Helier. Copper to reddish brown colour, slightly off-white head. Malty aroma and flavour, some roast, hints of caramel but quite dry. Spicy rye notes, hints of rye bread. Decent hops. I'm upping the score a bit.
Original rating: Keg pint at The Globe, Brentford. Served ice cold. Reddish brown colour, off-white head. Moderate aroma of fruity hops. Fairly well hopped amber ale, some pine / resin, grapefruit and a hint of lightly roasted malts.

L - Lovely colour, a rich chestnut. But with little rising CO2 and lacing that clears immediately.
S - Nice again, rich complex, hints of fruit pudding.
T - Dry front, dry like a glass of plain soda water. With hoppy dryness behind. This front partially masks more aromatic elements behind.
M - Predominantly dry, the somewhat complex side comes later and is subtle.
O - Fuller's are a very well reputed brewery but this beer is rather wasted on me. I'm glad I tried it though, but it just doesn't do much for me, it's not really one thing nor another.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Jan 2018. Picked up recently from Waitrose. The label describes it as an American-style rye ale hopped with Galaxy.
A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. A clear coppery-reddish hue with good carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy off-white foam that lasts for a minute or so before subsiding and dissipating.
S: Aroma of grainy caramel malt with hints of rye, bread, fruity hops and ale yeast. A twinge of diacetyl in the background. Decent, though initial impression fades slightly.
T: Tastes of caramel malt with notes of fruity aromatic hops, mild citrus, subtle rye, grain and ale yeast. Slightly sweet, with good balance. A restrained hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with pleasant carbonation and decent body. Aftertaste of fruity bitter hops, caramel malt and yeast.
O: Rather nice, if not outstanding. Looks OK, though the head could be more stable. The aroma and flavour are a satisfying blend of caramel malt, rye, fruity hops and yeast. Aroma could be more distinct. Body is alright. Pleasantly hoppy and goes down easily - worth sampling if you have the chance.

Pours a light clear amber red with medium rough head that left specks of lace. Nose is mildly hoppy, but on the weak side for this kind of beer. Taste does have some of the rye spiciness you'd expect, but not much. Just a little weak on all aspects...could have really used a bit more malt and hops here. Not terrible, but not worth getting. On the plus side, it is refreshing and crushable and a better option that a euro-lager.
