Nice aroma and appearance, and first taste has the smack of an English bitter. But it goes downhill from there. Mouthfeel is very watery, and there is absolutely no aftertaste. It seems to be lacking something...oh yeah, the alcohol....

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a dark-ish golden/amber colour with a small and quickly subsiding head and no lacing.
Smells of co2 and weak malts, not much of interest.
Tastes rather off. Weak hops and equally weak malts balance each other out, finishing with a faint caramalised sweet taste with a hint of lingering bitterness.
Overall reminds me of a cask bitter that hasn't been kept well at all. Very disappointing for such a good brewery.

Brewed to take advantage of new (2012) tax concessions (beers under 2.9%)
Pours a mouthwatering amber body with a light patchy thin head.
The aroma is good but it doesn't smell as good as you would think five varieties of hops would lend to it.
My nose does detect a small hop presence, malted milk biscuits and cheese wax.
The taste is a mixed affair
it hits the tongue in a most lacklustre way, almost like bottled mineral water with a hint honeycomb though as expected there is not a hint of sweetness.
Then the hops warm up and citrus notes are briefly explored before bitter spikes are driven home.
Very watery mouthfeel but it is hardly a big surprise
Not the taste sensation that was promised by the label but drinkable, just.
