Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours deep red with a fluffy white head. Smells of grassy hops and some caramelized malt. Tastes of grassy hops with caramelized grain, very slight nuttiness. Beer is light bodied and very easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a good beer.

Not the cleanest tasting beer, I've never had a Leine's that has knocked it out of the park on all fronts. It smells grassy and boozy but inoffensive. The hop forward flavor is certainly dominant as advertised but slightly harsh and unbalanced with a metallic aftertaste. It subsides quickly into a somewhat interesting malty/nutty mish mash of flavor. It's drinkable and cheap but unremarkable.

A little hoppy, like a session IPA. Nothing spectacular but I did not expect it to be, just an OK chance of pace. Much better than the IPL it kind of replaced.

Whipped up two finger head of red-tinted tan froth, extremely dimpled but has minimal distinct bubbles across the surface, leaves a full streak around the glass when it is tilted, excellent retention. Amber orange to brown hued liquid, perfectly clear with a huge storm of bubbles throughout perpetually refreshing the head. Malty nose of dough, malted milk balls, cocoa dust but has a herbaceous edge to it as well, more grassy than leafy, unshelled nuts, light metallic earth touch, can’t distinguish clear fruit notes but there’s an element of mixed white citrus present. Medium-bodied, the foaminess helps it expand across the palate and give it more coverage. Here you do get a core of cherry, berry fruit which pairs with the caramel, bready malts to give it a semi-sweet foundation. Through the mid-palate the metallic, quinine bitterness takes over and leaves you puckering at the end. Lingering nuttiness and has a punch of hops, however, hard to call it hoppy per se. Probably a decent beer to take out on a lake fishing but nothing to keep around the house on a regular basis.

I tried this in Brookfield, WI during my son's hockey tournament. It poured a clear copper amber with white head that did not leave any lace. The scent had hint of bitter citrus. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.
