Not too sure if I am right on this one but I sampled this at Famous Dave's on Hennepin in Minneapolis, MN and was told this was Lennie's "Maibock".
Copper and a light white head. Tons of biscuit malt on the nose with very little other character. Nice malt with a hint on earthy bitterness. A good beer for food, but after a sample I chose other beers...

LeinenKugel's "Bock".
Appearance- A dark brown pour that resembles a guiness. The beer claims to have a "creamy head," which was proved false by a thin head with poor retention. Within thirty seconds, the head was gone. There is little noticeable carbonation
Smell- There a strong malty scent with hints of hops.
Taste- A strong malty taste. The proportion of malt to hops matches the balance of the smell. There are no other noticeable flavors in this beer.
Mouth Feel- There is strong carbonation though is does not appear so while viewing the beer.
Drinkability- I am not wowed by this beer. It is good, with a rich malty flavor that bubbles around your mouth with a strong, less-visible carbonation. This beer should not make a claim to such a fantastic head if it does not have one.

I was actually pleasantly surprised with this one. I had only had Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat before this - so maybe the satndards weren't set too high with the Boch. I don't hate the sunset wheat - it's just not a style that I'd normally choose...but if given to me, I drink it. Essentially, this Boch was a nice turn from the that ultra lemon taste I had become accustomed to.
Appearance:
Pours a dark amber, frothy beige head, great ringed lacing.
Smell:
Slightly floral, and almost like an aged cheese, also with an earthy malt.
Taste:
Slight caramel malts. Smelled a bit more complex than it tasted.
Mouthfeel:
Fairly thin, but not light-beer thin.
Drinkability:
Very drinkable. Goes down very easy for a boch. I'd actually group this into my group of pizza beers...which usually consists mostly of pilsners.

Is this really retired? I feel like maybe it's been brought back. Either that or bheliman is shopping at some stores with dusty shelves and bad inventory control.
Regardless, this beer is average across the board. I just didn't care for it all that much. Beer smelled like a dirty sock, the taste while not that bad wasn't exciting. Maybe it was just a really old bottle. Either that or they should have left this recipe to rest in peace.

Light amber color with a thick head of light tan bubbles. Aroma of caramel, toast and pale malt. Well bodied. Mostly malt flavors with a touch of biting hops to keep it honest. Very drinkable and smooth bock. I wonder why they stopped making this one?

Leinenkugel's Bock pours a hazy dark brown with a tan head from a brown twelve ounce bottle. I don't know how old this bottle is, but the beer still seems to be in decent shape. The smell is mostly caramel. The flavor is also heavily caramel with a touch of vanilla. Not too bad, but possibly quite an old bottle.
