Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a dark iced tea color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of cocoa. Taste is much more pronounced than the aroma. Lots of chocolate, a bit of lactose. That brown bunny from Nestle Quik would be bouncing all over my screen after a taste of this one. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a good beer. If it wasn't for the low abv, I would have thought is was a "milk/sweet stout".

Poured from the can into a nonic pint glass.

What an interesting if odd color. Hazelnut brown body with hints of orange amber colors too. Quite clear but not so much to see through entirely. Head is quite light, off white almost khaki colored and grows a styrofoam three fingers. Settles to a bowled crown collar with little lacing.

Aroma is well.. Straight up Counct Choclua breakfast cereal chocolate. It's a nice whaffery aroma that has the crispness to it, and also isn't horrifically sweet. As far as other qualities though, there's nothing else to detect shandy or beer/malt character otherwise. Doesn't seem to hint at watery yoohoo at least on first whiff but we shall see.

Palate brings a little more to the table than the nose would indicate. Sweet and slightly fruity flavors on first sip, with light powdered breakfast cereal and cocoa filling nicely. There's a bit of red apple like flavor mixing in that is supported by a pretty neutral malt body, that is at least not wet, supportive, and just barely hints a bit of chewy texture. Is there maybe a tinge of grapefruit hiding here too?

It is what it is, and actually has a bit of nostalgic flavor of Saturday morning cartoons with a bowl of cereal in front of me. Other parts are mostly just supportive, but certainly gives a drinkable experience.

Again no bells and whistles on the beer but a strong chcolate taste. Very good beer far winter. IF this bee was warmed up it would be a hot choclate beer.

To me this almost tastes like the chocolate drink Yoo-Hoo but with the added benefit of fermentation. The cocoa flavor is a bit too much. I would't call this a session beer, or even a beer, because of the strong chocolate flavor it tastes more like a soda pop.And while I wouldn't purchase in bulk such as a sixer or more, it was part of a variety pack so there's no reason NOT to try it.Just not something I would drink very often.
