Honestly this is a very poor representation of the style, no questions asked. It tastes like someone dumped a bunch of water into my maibock before serving it to me. Sorry.

Draught @ Altoona: This one pours a clear amber color. There was a very small off white head that didn’t linger long or leave much lacing. The aroma was lighter. Caramel malts with some earthy hops. The taste is OK. Caramel, some toffee and a hint of dryness in the finish. Not bad, but a typical mainstream amber.

Maibock
Marzoni's Brick Oven & Brewing Company
Style: Maibock / Helles Bock
ABV: 7.10 %
Pours a clear golden color, with a white sticky head and good retention. Aroma of lager yeast, malt sweetness, and a mild floral hop character. In the taste, sweet grains, pale malts, biscuity, bready notes from the malt and yeast, low bitterness and a kiss of alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and well carbonated. Overall, a pretty decent Maibock with some mellow but agreeable flavors. A bit sweet, but more or less spot on.

Appearence: Pours a very nice gold with a solid white head that has great retention. Brilliant clarity, good carbonation.
Smell: WOW! What an interesting smelling maibock. The lager smell is there, with some nice bitter notes, but there's a whole world of fruity and malty smells. Cake? I smell cake. Very complex smelling.
Taste and Mouthfeel: The taste is less special than the smell would lead you to believe. Actually kind of bland tasting. No flavors really jump out and grab you. Nice lager crispness, with a small amount of bitterness, and a pretty noticable amount of alcohol flavor. It's well rounded though, and not offensive to the taste buds. The mouthfeel is cloying, almost syrupy, and detracts from the drinkability.
Drinkability and Overall: A nice looking beer, and one that's fun to sniff, but rather boring on the palate. It was nice to try a new seasonal from Marzoni's, but this one just wasn't my cup of tea.
