On tap at Selinsgrove/Hummel's Wharf.
Description per Brewer's Choice menu - "Dark Amber in color with a layered deep rich maltiness, this made-up style of beer kinda tastes like a dopplebock."
Appearance - pleasant dark finish reminiscent of a fine mahogany stringed instrument. Head has a light ruby quality to it. Served in a stemmed tulip glass.
Aroma - malty / bready. Mildly sweet.
Flavor - matches aroma, although sweetness and malt alcohol more prominent than bready aroma but matches expectation. Not peaty but their disclaimer puts it at arm's-length from being a Scottish ale. Lager yeast presents a less fruity/estery quality which makes for a delightfully clean drinking experience.
Mouth feel - hop neutral, very tasty and refreshing for a 7.2% beer. Not syrupy, not alcohol-warm. Just right.
Overall - this is a really well-crafted beer. It might not have a true classification, but does that matter? Not in my opinion. Really well done, probably my favorite Marzoni's house variety to date.
