Poured into a Stone gargoyle flute. Pours slightly hazy, medium golden amber with a half finger white head that dissipates to a thin film with light lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and fruit hops, ripe pineapple, tangerine, Tang and mixed tropical fruit; fruity.
Flavor is pale malt, citrus hops, orange peel, grapefruit, yuzu, mild mixed tropical fruit. Moderate bitterness in a orange juice finish. Medium bodied with light to medium creaminess. The brewer's description is West Coast IPA with terpenes. This imbiber has to say "no kidding"! I would have described it as estery, but there is a lot of terpene action too. The fruit flavor is mostly in the orange family, although some other fruit flavors are lightly present. I'd have liked a little more bitterness in the finish. Not quite an WC IPA in my book, but this is a novel tasting and enjoyable IPA.
