Two hand-pulled pints of this Traditional Bitter: Swan Hotel, Wellington (Shropshire) on 29th Sept 2012.

Mid-amber body, clean and clear: an off-white head sat on top of each pour.

The nose was more malty than hoppy: some semi-sweet molasses (toffee and caramel) hid the fruity, nut esters of the hops until the beer began to warm in the glass a little.

The taste followed the smells: malts ruling the flavours with the hops just providing a slight bittering towards the end of each sip. It was fairly well balanced and not as malty as I might have described to be honest, lets just say it leads with the malts.

An OK session beer but not one I'd seek out.
