Possibly the best of the dragon series I've tried so far. Perhaps they keep refining these IPAs with every generation. Loads of tropical flavours. Very low bitterness. Incredibly refreshing. Alcohol is completely hidden.

650ml bottle - this time it's the Mosaic varietal's turn for the single-hop Dragon series treatment.
This beer pours a clear, bright medium copper amber colour, with four fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat bubbly beige head, which leaves some decent webbed tree branch lace around the glass as it slowly but evenly subsides.
It smells of bready and doughy caramel malt, indistinct tropical fruit esters, some candy-friendly dark berry notes, a twinge of stoney flintiness, and more leafy, herbal, and wet piney green hop bitters. The taste is semi-sweet, grainy and pastry-esque caramel malt, some underripe pineapple and mango exotic fruitiness, more juicy candied red berries, and an earthy, piney, and grassy verdant hoppiness.
The carbonation is fairly sturdy in its gameface-sporting frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and generally smooth, with just a touch of piney acerbity nosing about, looking for a fight. It finishes off-dry, the big base malt and mixed fruitiness tugging strongly in that direction.
Overall, the Mosaic hop sure brings a broad cast of flavours along for the ride - fruity (citrus, tropicals, and berries), mostly, and with just enough grassy and piney bitterness to keep things from going off of the saccharine rails. Good, good stuff, as appears to be the norm for this always welcome line of Alley Kat brews.
