Have enjoyed this concoction a few times at the Hop in Brew, from notes
A - a fully hazy pale orange, showed up at my table with just a thin ramdom covering of head
S - sour green apple and peace, mild yeasty esters, big bready aroma, some alcohol noticable
T - sour apple and bready malt dominate, with milder notes of citrus, spice, and the yeastiness builds on the finish
M - bready with a drying alcohol heat
O - a nice recipe from the eccentric proprietor of this establishment, this place was a friday after work staple for years, recenty the place has been over run with skinny jean horn rimmed glasses hipser types, but still a great place with great beers

Goldspur is contract brewed for Hop in Brew, to a recipe apparently provided by the establishment itself.

This beer appears a hazy pale golden colour, with one finger of creamy white head, which renders a uniform wall of webbed lace around the glass in its wake. It smells of sweet, sugary peach, plum, and white grape, with a decent graininess underneath. The taste is more sweet fruit - apple, grape, mostly, barley malt, mild yeast, and a slight alcohol warming. The carbonation is quite low, the body full, and creamy smooth. It finishes with some new-found, even booze dryness, aided by a more astringent graininess - everything being relative, of course.

A stellar Belgian Blonde (their term), a style which usually leaves my taste buds feeling nonplussed. The upfront, but restrained fruit, the scarily hidden big booze (10.5% at this writing), and the way it just slips down way too well - this would be one hell of a 'sessioner', making negotiating the Hop in Brew's narrow stairs to the bathroom an adventure in itself...

This is my favorite beer on-tap, hands down, no other beers need apply.
Because it was made in a large batch exclusively for the Hop-In Brew, it tastes a bit different every time (keg). Some nights it is citrusy and sour, with grapefruit notes. Other nights it has banana esters and a more yeasty taste. I've had it when it was predominately sweet, and when it was kind of spicy.
It's never bad. I just wish it wasn't 9% (they can be over 10% as they are drunk towards the final few kegs) so I could have two of them in one night. They pack a mean punch.

Appearance is traditional and justified for the style; hazy, yellow to dark yellow, with a nice tight head.

It tastes far better than it looks.

Brewed exclusively for Hop In Brew pub in Calgary. I don't believe I have met a triple I didn't like and this is no exception, but it is not the best tripel I have had. Good yeast aroma and its in the taste but there is a dominant sour taste that detracts and gives it an apple cidery characteristic. Yeasty mouthfeel contributes to a certain satisfaction. There is some lace.
