650ml bottle, a new one (for me) from Alley Kat's Big Bottle series. I like their regular Full Moon, let's see the Belgian twist.
The beer pours clear, pale golden color. Creamy, off-white foam leaves a thin coatiing of lace, head lasts throughout.
Some belgian spice (clove and pepper) and yeast, along with the pale ale citrus and herb hops.
The taste is a good mix of bready malt and caramel base, yeasty, coriander and other spice. Nice hoppiness at the end.
The mouthfeel is average, carbonation is as expected. Body is medium, smooth and dry finish.
A flavorful ale, that I enjoyed.

The taste is a good mix of bready malt and caramel base, yeasty, coriander and other spice. Nice hoppiness at the end.
The mouthfeel is average, carbonation is as expected. Body is medium, smooth and dry finish.
A flavorful ale, that I enjoyed.

Appearance - Pours a cloudy copper with a finger width of bubbly head.
Smell - Light yeast, touch of clove, grains, light piney hops.
Taste - Piney hops with very minimal yeast undertones. Slight butteriness.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with light to moderate carbonation.
Overall - A respectable Belgian pale ale. I feel like there could be some improvement in the yeast content. They delivered on the hops, but would like to pick up more spiciness from the yeast.

Taste - Piney hops with very minimal yeast undertones. Slight butteriness.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with light to moderate carbonation.
Overall - A respectable Belgian pale ale. I feel like there could be some improvement in the yeast content. They delivered on the hops, but would like to pick up more spiciness from the yeast.

Smell. Belgian yeast, a little bit of clove, some citrusy hops and maybe a touch of pine and banana.
Taste. Lots of citrus hops and some pine, spicy dry belgian yeast, some nice clean lightly toasted malts.
Mouthfeel. On the lighter side of medium bodied with medium carbonation.
Overall. Nice and refreshing with great flavour. Despite not being the biggest fan of belgian yeast, I could do another bomber of this.

Smell. Belgian yeast, a little bit of clove, some citrusy hops and maybe a touch of pine and banana.
Taste. Lots of citrus hops and some pine, spicy dry belgian yeast, some nice clean lightly toasted malts.
Mouthfeel. On the lighter side of medium bodied with medium carbonation.
Overall. Nice and refreshing with great flavour. Despite not being the biggest fan of belgian yeast, I could do another bomber of this.

650ml bottle, the latest in Alley Kat's Big Bottle series. Their Full Moon pale ale, brewed with Ardennes yeast.
This beer pours a crystal clear, pale golden amber hue, with three fingers of puffy, thickly creamy, meringue-like off-white head, which leaves a decent wall of crooked webbed lace around the glass as it evenly melts away.
It smells of spicy, musty yeast, a bit of clove and white pepper, subdued citrus and herbal hops, bready caramel malt, and a faint minty leafiness. The taste is much more malt-forward, the oh-so familiar bready, somewhat doughy caramel malt of the base pale ale sort of shouldering the acerbic yeast from the nose to the side. A light peppery, coriander spiciness persists, though, blending well enough with the mild citrus and leafy hoppiness.
The carbonation is about normal, just lifting enough to keep things rolling, the body a pleasant medium-light weight, and generally smooth. It finishes off-dry, the malt still puttering gamely ahead as ever was, as the dry yeastiness regroups for another go-round.
An interesting side gig for this venerable Alberta pale ale - the Belgian yeast really just having the overall effect of muddling the Full Moon's near-perfectly balanced hops. Not a big deal, I suppose, and tasty enough, if you're into this sort of thing. Me, I'm already tiring of the trendy 'Belgo' yeastification (it's a word now, Mr. Spellcheck) of my precious pale ales, regular and India, of late. File this under 'we can, but should we really bother?'.

650ml bomber poured into tulip 9/4/13
A clear pale copper with very tiny bubbles popping up from everywhere, saturated with little bubbles that feed a tight finger of cream colored foam that has great retention and leaves a few partial rings of lace followed by plenty of random patches
S Belgian yeast comes out right away, spicy clove mingles well with some citrus and bread, some herbal notes, faint brown sugar and caramel with dry cereal
T everything I smells still there but with slightly less intensity and the Belgian aspects not as strong and the Full Moon comes out a little more and that's not a bad thing but I preferred the nose just a tad
M the tiny bubbles work well in this department creaming things up a little, very Belgian on the finish tasting stronger then when the liquids in my mouth, not very thick but the bubbles make it feel full
O it is what it claims, Full Moon with a Belgian yeast, I liked it and would drink it again considering its well priced
drinkable liquid for sure, I like Full Moon and I like Belgian yeast so it only makes sense that I'd like this
