16oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $5.75. Canned on 11/03/25, so this is almost 6 1/2 weeks old.
Look: Very hazy, looking like a dulled-down orange juice. There was a finger or two of off-white, creamy head that quickly dissipated to a rim around the glass.
Smell: Nice tropical fruit and citrus aromas: mango, pineapple, orange, and grapefruit. There's a green note on the finish (celery?). It smells like so many other IPAs, but there is something different about this one and it's just hard to pinpoint it. It probably helps that it is fresh.
Taste: Very strong. It tastes like it is a bit imbalanced in that the finish is very bitter and dry/medicinal. It also tastes very woody on the finish, and I was not expecting that. Something about it tastes like it is off. It's a shame because the nose was very promising. After pouring the rest of the can, there was little if any change.
Feel: Medium plus bodied. For a beer like this, it would be nice if it had a creamier mouthfeel.
Overall: This is my first Creature Comforts beer. I had hopes for this, and it really missed the mark. I look forward to trying some of their other offerings, as there is a lot of acclaim around this brewery.
From the can:
Originally brewed to celebrate our 500th version of Tropicalia, this monster has been dormant for some time. Back and better than ever with intense amounts of Citra, Centennial, and Galaxy hops!

Love this more than Tropicalia. Has silky glass lining and is a deep orange color. I could drink these all day too which is dangerous.

Full body dankness! Well balanced with modest hoppiness for an 8.0ABV! Excellent beer by a this brewer. 4/21/17
