Loopulus strikes a nice balance between the citrus and tropical fruit flavors of Citra hops and the punchy, white-wine flavors of Nelson Sauvin hops. The result is a flavorful, easy-to-drink hazy double IPA that finishes with a juicy, full-bodied mouthfeel.

pours a hazy, golden straw with a gigantic head that sticks around. nose; dank citra hops, washed grain, unripe mango, & citrus rind. taste; light wheaty malt, bright bitter mango, light pineapple, orange/grapefruit rind, & heavy citra hops. high carbonation & medium mouthfeel. most citra-centric beers have a "single note" session palette to me, but this one has a couple of fruity notes that keep it from droning. another middling+ to throw onto the hazy pile.

A juicy, hazy double IPA. Loved how much of a hop bomb this thing was while still staying mostly citrus-focused.

Yum. Love this beer- a very nice rendition of a hazy IPA. First brewed for the Brick Store Pub's 20th anniversary (my favorite place in the Atlanta area), and revived for canning. Perfectly balanced juicy hops combined with a bitter, crisp finish and just enough body to support everything. Fantastic!

Huge head production; just a shade off of snow white. Great retention and lacing. Body is hazy but not completely opaque, lively, with little to no particulate. Color is lemon yellow in thinner portions of the glass, closer to straw or gold in thicker portions.
Big fruity nose, floral, juicy, and sweet. Mango, pineapple, flowers, honey, light herbs, light pepper, just a touch of dankness (although it builds), lemon. Perfect team up of Citra and Nelson Sauvin.
Big, soft, pillowy mouthfeel; crazy good for a NE-style (hazy) IPA outside of New England. Very little heat.
Juicy and semi-sweet. Like the nose, there's very little citrus (could be due to the age of the Citra hops, with this being a pretty fresh can), with an emphasis on tropical fruit and honey. Light white wine mustiness, peppery and herbal finish. Big notes of melon and honey lead the way, complemented by mango and pineapple. No pungency or astringency; low bitterness.
This is a fabulous imperial hazy IPA. Creature Comforts is perhaps best known for Tropicalia, a bit closer to a juicy WC IPA, similar to Jai Alai, with balanced bitterness but crazy juiciness. They do other hoppy beers quite well, however, and this is a wonderful demonstration that they can branch out into other IPA sub-styles and make it look effortless. This is really, really good.

16 oz can into a shaker pint glass
Beautiful, pillowy white head. Nice lacing as I drink this beer.
Smell: grassy, grapefruit, lemon notes. picking up some candied mangoes too.
Taste: Multiple citrus tastes to unpack: juicy grapefruit and navel orange stand out the most to me, but there are some other very citrus delicious notes in the background. Very complex citrus. Some slight sweet malt notes that make this beer more drinkable than it should be given its ABV. slightest black peppery alcohol burn on the finish. Honestly its taste profile reminds me of a late 2000's West Coast IPA, and I mean that in the most flattering way.
Feel: Medium bodied; definitely taste the booze on the finish too. I think this would pair awesomely with some spicy food.
Overall: Awesome beer but I can't justify its price. $17 for a 4 pack is banana land. CC prices their beers in a whacky way, IMO.

Acquired from @Brewsoverhoes.
Cloudy is a better word than hazy, orange with darkening hues near the bottom of the glass. Smells of citrus notes with emphasis on orange and grapefruit, hints of mango. Taste is juicy and citrusy, a very slight dank and bitter undercurrent. Light to medium bodied, mouth watering, almost creamy feel to it, definite alcohol presence.
I hear a beer with a name like this, I honestly might expect a bit more dankness and bitterness, but I’m not holding that against this very good beer.

16 ounce can - $6.49 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
ON: 08/03/20.
Appearance: Pours a hazed, yellow-gold body with a reliably sustained, off-white ring of foam.
Smell: A notably coarse, raw-scented graininess paired with mango, melon, gooseberry and spice with a rind-centric lemon.
Taste: Cooked raw wheat and barley for a steamy, creamy stew of grains. Atop this unyielding firm graininess is a tropical fruitiness of unagreeable mango, citrus, floral, melon and aluminum-tinged gooseberry with a growing though not eclipsing bitterness. Finishes with that same raw graininess, gooseberry claret for a frowning and brow-furrowing finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.
Overall: Pricey and discouraging. Fun can, though!

Just found this beer at the local package store in Athens, GA. Owner stated it just came in today. Not sure if it's even available outside Athens, GA yet. I really enjoy Hopslam and Tropicalia. Loopulus comes across as the perfect blend of these 2 great beers. Fruity, Hoppy, Sweet, Smooth but definitely has that IPA bite throughout.
