Can from 5.10.23
One of CC’s weaker efforts. Very muddled over ripe fruit + almost boozy burn dominate pallet. CC is IPA royalty but this is a miss.

Cloudy golden pour with a good amount of head. Aroma is tropical citrus with a hint of pine. Taste is citrus up front followed by some hoppy bitterness and is pretty dry. Mouthfeel is slightly creamy and smooth. Overall a solid citrusy IPA.

Appearance: Pours a goodly clouded, milky-yellow body with an inch of creamyish, white foam.
Smell: Stewed, creamy oats, jutting citrus-derived oils smelling of citrus fruits, peaches-n-creme, tropical passionfruit.
Taste: Sweetish malts, a soft loaf breadiness sprinkled with turbinado sugar. Meager sip of lightly sweetened cream. Tropical, cleansing citrus, peach and an understated albeit lingering grassiness. Its bitterness is fairly modest. Smooth, milky finish with blips of fruitiness and a touch of raw graininess in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body, a cushiony, fluffy quality from the inclusion of rustic grains. Medium carbonation.
Overall: A good offering. Those looking to check off the lactose box ☒, Galaxy hops box ☒ and hazy box ☒ should be reasonably pleased with this one.

I love Creature Comforts IPAs! While this was good, it fell short on my expectations. I guess I was expecting more based on everything I have had to date.

Pours a hazy, to the point of being opaque, pale gold producing 3+ fingers of chunky, dense, glowing white, lasting, billowy head that leaves a clumpy, sticky coating of lace on the sides of the glass as it recedes to a thick collar and surface cap. Aroma is big: tangerine, orange and grapefruit overshadowing tropical notes of pineapple with pine and herbal hints mixed in the pale malt. Taste, like the nose is BIG and mouth-filling. Bursting with fruity flavors of tangerine, grapefruit, delicate tropical fruits and a hint of melon. A note of pine pops up in the finish, riding into the aftertaste it becomes more intense. The malt is pale and delicate. It finishes far from clean with an abundance of rich flavors hanging on the tongue in an increasing bitterness, all of which cling to the tongue in a long lived after taste. Mouthfeel is meium-heavy bodied with moderate carbonation, succulent and juicy, it's slick, tongue coating and mouth filling. Well balanced until you get past the finish where it's monstrosity of an aftertaste explodes and hangs. With all that said it is an exceptional example.

Poured from can into tulip, 1+ finger cream colored head, good retention and lacing. Pale hazy yellow in the glass, no visible floaties. Citrus on the nose, along with faint pineapple. Taste is sharp citrus on the front, pineapple, pine thru the middle, the lactose and oats help with the mouthfeel. There is a firm bitterness on the finish and a residual grapefruit bitterness left on the palate.

I picked up a 4 pack of this last year and it was a spectacular, big, hoppy-yet-hazy beer. One of my favorites.
I picked up a pack this year and it falls *considerably* short. It pours a beautiful hazy Amber with a nice head. Smell is citrusy, juicy hops. The mouth feel is silky smooth with a tinge of carbonation. But the taste (this year) is hoppy-yet-dirty. As in dirt.
Such a disappointment this year.

Appearance: Hazy, straw yellow with fluffy white head, moderate retention. Looks like OJ. No visible carbonation.
Aroma: Citrus & Tropical fruit. No malt.
Flavor & Aftertaste: Citrus and Tropical fruit, dominated by aggressive bitterness that fades quickly. Quite dry.
Mouth-Feel: Medium to full bodied. Low on carbonation. Medium length finish with lingering bitterness. Bitter bite in the mouth-feel. High astringency.
Overall: I am not a Hazy IPA fan; but I can see how this beer will excite those that are. Single hopped with Galaxy Hops. Lots of citrus and tropical fruit notes. Fairly aggressive bitterness on the front end that fades a bit. Addition of lactose and oats really beef up the body, which I like in a beer like this. You'll notice the astringency as you work toward the bottom of the glass. As usual, Creature Comforts does a great job of crafting a beer and packaging it in a unique label that is interesting and readable. Well done.

The very cloudy pour looked nearly identical to a glass of orange juice, but with bubbles. The head was a good two fingers thick. The smell was tropical, as the aromas were that of melon, guava, and peach. The taste was similar to the smell with some bready sweetness as well. The finish was very acidic. The body felt thick and chewy. This beer drank heavier than the 6.6% ABV it had. I think this was not as good as other Creature Comforts seasonals.
