Imperial Trop Haze is a hazy double IPA made with Citra, Centennial, and Galaxy hops. We wanted to make something really fun that we thought our biggest Trop fans would love.

Appearance: Served up a hazy, burnished yellow-orange hue with a smallish, finely-textured, near white head. Coating lacing on the way down.

Smell: Assembled rustic grains with tropical tones, bright citrus with a sprinkling of scattered kitchen herb stems and ground aspirin.

Taste: Pale maltiness rounded out with coarse unmalted grains. Not overly sweet, nor is it overly bitter. As with the nose, it's tropical and citrusy with papaya, pineapple, guava, tangerine and apricot, though with a soft pulpy quality (like a baby's dinner).

Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation.

Overall: It's OK.

16oz Can poured in a Pint glass

Aroma was intense when I popped the can - citrus and pine

Pours Honey gold with slight head that dissapated quickly with decent lacing.

Aroma from the glass was piney with tangerine and citrus (far less intense than when I first opened)

Taste is rich citrus with a pine finish but not overpowering. Doesn't taste like 8% and is far lighter and easy drinking than I expected. There is a fair amount of carbonation and mouth feel is light and nice with a smooth finish.

I am big Creature Comfort fan and this is a fantastic beer!

Excellent head production, retention, and lacing. Body is predictably hazy (as advertised!), but neither pulpy nor completely opaque. Lemon yellow hue.

Juicy nose. Melon, honey, orange, mango. Fairly straightforward for a NE-style IIPA, but that's certainly not a bad thing.

Similar on the palate. Two month old can (one month shy of the best by date), but it doesn't at all come across as stale in any way. Only mildly dank (possibly much danker when fresh), and similarly only a bit of bright minty and Italian herbs. Just a touch grassy. The emphasis is on sweet honeyed tropical and citrus fruit: mango, melon, pineapple, mandarin orange.

Smooth drinking. Moderately bitter, especially for the style.

Poured from can into tulip, good 3 finger cream colored head, great retention and lacing. Bright hazy golden in the glass, opaque but not turbid. Good tropical nose, citrus, mango, guava and some pine/pineapple. Taste is sweet malt up front, not cloying as some of these are, pineapple is the first thing I get with some underlying minerality, the citrus, guava and other tropicals come out thru the middle. Drinks soft, small to non existent bitterness on the finish, but it is balanced out where it isn't too sweet, so I am fine with that. Lingering pineapple/guava on the palate on the finish, but it is pleasant. Hides the 8% very well

L - Hazy, cloudy yellow, no clarity. 1 full finger of head that hangs there. Gorgeous.

S - Pine hops dominate, lots of tropical fruit

T - Citrus burst, no bitterness, so tasty!

F - medium body and well carbonated

O - An amazing brew. This one needs to be in the regular rotation
