Appearance: An inky black pour covered briefly with a short-lived, yellow-beige cap of foam.
Smell: Dark chocolate fudge blended with chilled espresso housing notes of black licorice, bourbon barrel, dark fruits, roasted malt.
Taste: Big on its initial sweetness. Oozing caramel, chocolate, coffee, licorice. Robut dark fruitiness of dates, raisins and even dark cherries with a vinous port-like quality. More abundant in the nose, the bourbon and barrel components are lessened in the flavor. Retains its sweetness, maltiness and vibrant fruitiness through the finish.
Mouthfeel: Full-bodied. Softly carbonated. An overall mouthfeel like a spoonful of ganache.
Overall: While, perhaps, it's maybe not the upfront bourbon character you'd hope for or expected, it still is certainly a quality, pleasant adult beverage.

Dark, rich and smooth. A very drinkable blended stout. The bourbon barrel aging adds a sweet character to the finish.

Look: very dark imp stout. Virtually no highlights even when held to light.
Smell: fudgy, roasty, vanilla, hints of booze.
Taste: much like the nose. Quite mellow, crushable for the abv.

Had on tap. Shimmering black body with a tan ring. Big boozy whiskey nose with dark chocolate smoky maple, and rustic oak. Taste is very hot with booze, needs to be laid down for awhile, smoky earth and toasted caramel with roasted malts and char create a rugged base but are ultimately overpowered by the finish. Feel is hot, medium bodied, thick and robust. Needs time to cool down or adjust the blend next year
