Pours cloudy light amber. A finger of white bubbly head reducing to some fair lacing. Smell is toasted bread, honey, caramel, subtle bitter hop, and light citrus. Taste follows suit with sharp malt on the front and hop following it down, with sweet honey/caramel aftertaste. Very crisp beer and the feel seems to manipulate the taste is a good way. Good beer, would drink more.

On: 05/18/21.

Appearance: Pours a golden, clear body that houses a gentle bubbly effervescence. Medium-sized, white head up top.

Smell: Bready pilsner maltiness with a small morsel of toasted grains. Hops deliver a supporting restrained herbal, spicy tone. It's got a little sniff of alcohol.

Taste: Sweetish pale maltiness with accents of toasted grain and oven-baked bread loaves. Lightly bitter hops yield herbal, spicy and floral accents. Small hint of peppery alcohol. A bit more of the alcohol and toasty barley on the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and fairly smooth. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Not bad.

16oz can served in a nonic glass. BBD is 9/19/20.

L- Clear amber color. Impressive light khaki head with great retention and lacing, ample carbonation streams as it sits.

S- Caramel malt, raisins and dates, banana, toffee/molasses and toasted brown bread, light citrus and spicy hop notes. Some faint boozy hints.

T- Caramel malt sweetness, dark fruits and banana, toffee/brown sugar, some honey and vanilla, orange marmalade, a bit of nuttiness, toasted dark bread, light spice notes.

F- Medium/light bodied, fairly sweet and sticky up front with a dry slight bitterness in the finish, medium carbonation.

O- A well executed American Maibock, one of the better ones that I've had actually.

Appearance - From the can, the beer poured a golden yellow color with a very large white bubbly head.

Smell - The nose was a pretty straightforward lager smell. As a whole, it was somewhat nondescript.

Taste - My first impression was the smoothness of the body. I detected grassy notes, sweet malts, lager yeast, and lightly bitter hops. More so than is typical for the style, the profile seemed to be amped up. The beer had a clean dry finish.

Mouthfeel - The body was smooth and creamy with little bubbles of carbonation pushing away the sweeter elements.

Overall - This is a fantastic impression of the style

Cool 16 oz. can poured into a big snifter/chalice 3 Taverns glass.

Upon cracking the can I can already smell an awesome bouquet. One of the best smelling beers I've whiffed in a while. More on that in a sec.

Look: Coppery hue with an off white/faded white head that is retained throughout drinking. Awesome lacing on my glass as I work through this beer.

Smell: Sourdough bread fresh out the oven. Extremely floral-spring, Alpine flower petals. This smell is taking me places! Just the most classic "beer" smell in the most positive way. Hard to articulate.

Taste: Sourdough bread, grassy, floral hops; mid palate I detect slight orange/citrus notes. some toffee-like malt backbone as well.

Feel: It has a heavier finish--i kind of pick up the higher ABV on the back end. Makes it a good beer to nurse over a decent period of time.

Overall: Very solid offering from CC and Burial; I'll gladly seek this one out again.

This is the 2020 collaboration between Creature Comforts Brewing Co. and Burial Beer Co.

Appearance: Clear, brilliant Light Amber color. Develops a big fluffy off white head with very good retention. Slow carbonation.

Aroma: Floral, bready and a little herbal. Very clean aroma.

Flavor & aftertaste: Bready malt flavor with herbal and spicy notes. You can definitely taste the Saaz. A tad peppery too. Moderate bitterness.

Mouth-feel: Soft, medium bodied. Medium length finish.

Overall: Very enjoyable, first class Maibock. Drinkers who like German styles will really like this beer. It uses high quality malts with Saaz, Hallertauer Herbrucker, and Santiam hops. It has a heavenly aroma. It has a moderate bitterness, more so than many other German styles; but it is appropriate for the style. I can't find much to complain about at all. Creature Comforts has hit some real home runs lately with recent collaborations (see Get Comfortable with Allagash). This one is no exception. Maibock fans should like it. It is a limited release.
