New limited release: Long Haul is a Doppelbock (7.1%) featuring a beautiful extended lagering time in neutral oak puncheon barrels. After five months of lagering, this German-style beer made with Seitzfarm hops from Germany presents plum, cherry, caramel, and notes of toasted country bread. Following a more traditional approach in the process, we named the beer as a nod to its lengthy lagering time.

4-Pack of 16 ounce cans - $15.99 at Bullock's Wine & Spirits in Marietta, Georgia.
On 01/19/24 / By 05/19/24.
Appearance: Pours a medium brown body, displaying good clarity. Inch of very light beige foam.
Smell: An abundantly malty scent of toasted crusty bread, an ever-so-slight sweetish cooked sugar glaze and minor albeit supporting hints of dark fruit, dried herbs.
Taste: Toasted breadcrusts with a thin trail of caramelized sweetness. Rather faint, faroff hint of dry chocolate powder. Slight perceived dark fruitiness yields to herbal-toned hops presenting a light balancing bitterness. Very gently warming alcohol presence. Drying albeit malty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: An altogether reputable, solid doppelbock. A style I frankly wouldn't trust many Georgia breweries to not totally bungle.
