Appearance: Clear pale gold, fluffy white head, good retention. Fast rising bubbles.

Aroma: Low floral note.

Flavor: Cracker like malt and spicy hops. Moderate to high bitterness. Low sweetness.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, drying. Moderate carbonation. Medium length finish.

Overall: Good crisp, easy drink Kolsch. Light on aroma. Lacks the soft, rounded mouthfeel of imports. This one is much more bitter than most in this style. It builds as you drink and becomes a detractor to enjoyment. Lingers well into the finish. Good effort, just need to scale back on the bitterness.

4-Pack of 16 ounce cans - $17.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

On: 07/11/23.

Appearance: Pours a crystal clear, yellow-hued appearance with a lofty, frothy, white head.

Smell: A lightly vinous, lime-accented hoppiness, a bit of grassy, dry-as-straw-in-a-barn herbs and a scant cereal sweetness.

Taste: Very faintly bready with a minimal amount of cereal sweetness. Dried herbs, dried florals with a squeeze of lime, a squirt of wine and just a tiny blot of lemongrass paste. The flavor starts to firmly skew a bit bitterish and remains so through the crisp, fairly dry finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Quite nice, refreshing Kölsch.
