Strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lively and tingling texture.

Nice, tart and automated.

Pours a straw color with a half finger of white head. The nose has lemon and grapefruit notes. There's also a lemony flavor complimented by some faint piney qualities. The finish is quite bitter, but the body is very light and thin even for this style.

Pours clear straw yellow white fluffy head
Faint aroma of melon, orange, florals
Taste is semi sweet and has an astringent type of finish
Mouthfeel is semi bitter, medium carbonation, fairly light. Some alcohol burn and a lingering bitter back end
Over all this a a good representation of a WC IPA, nicely balanced

05/28/24. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint. Thanks Erinn!!
A: Mildly hazy gold with 1-finger white foamy head with average retention but sparse lacing.
S: Aroma is excellent with tangerine, honeydew melon, grapefruit, and floral notes too. Subtle toasty pale malt aroma. Faint floral ester.
T: Flavor is hoppy and very enjoyable with pineapple, tangerine, grapefruit, and lime join with some lower intensity herbal character. Some pleasant pale malt notes on the finish and aftertaste. Bitterness is low-medium with low intensity floral ester.
M: Low-medium body with even carbonation and dry finish.
O: A very nice daily IPA with relatively low ABV and high drinkability with a good balance of hop and malt character.

Appearance: Cloudy yellow-gold color. Fluffy white head with good retention.
Aroma: Citrus and herbal notes.
Flavor: Mild alcohol note. Citrus, herbal and resinous. Semi-sweet initially, with aggressive bitterness on the back end.
Mouthfeel: Pillowy soft. Medium level of astringency. Medium carbonation. Moderate length finish with bitterness building.
Overall: Very West Coast IPA. Reminds me of Stone IPA. CCB used to make Automatic Pale Ale, which was a nice modern APA that stood out amount most PA. They've transferred the name and can art to this IPA. They do not disclose the hops but this beer reminds me of a collab they did with Sierra Nevada in their Get Comfortable Series. It has very similar hops aroma, flavor and bitterness but much less alcohol. If had to guess I'd say this has Citra and HBC 586 hops. It has some nice hops character and pillowy mouthfeel, but the astringency and bitterness start to detract. Call it unbalanced. BA's who like WC style IPA should like this. A real bummer they have stopped making Automatic Pale Ale (which BA's rated 93 btw).
Love the can art. It looks like they changed it a bit from the PA but same theme. Anyone who spend time in Athens during the 80's & 90's knows the reference to "For The People". Shoutout to Weaver D!

Had the PA a year ago and it was great but kicking this up a notch to IPA was a good thing. Brighter flavor and tad more body is evident

Things change. Sometimes for the worse -im thinking Scofflaw Basement IPA... so sad- but sometimes for the better, as here. Going from a pale ale to IPA makes all the difference in this one. A little more alcohol, a lot more bite and character. Not a dank beer (that's good), just a good sundowner by the lake beer. I cheated on the look rating as I've been drinking straight from the can. And that's what it is, an intermediary between pour in a glass beer and bring a few in a bucket. My new automatic when in GA.
