Wow. This is fantastic. For the price, I wasn't expecting this level of pure fresh hoppy punch. A six pack of pints from Whole Foods for about $14 with tax? Is it 2018 again?
Pours crystal clear gold with a stark white head. Pretty good retention for a West Coast IPA. Lots of lacing.
Beautiful hoppy aromas of papaya, passion fruit, pineapple, guava, lime, blood orange, and green apple notes absolutely dominate. A gentle pine note pervades throughout the aroma from start to finish. The malt notes are subtle, but there are clear hints of sourdough bread here. Easily one of the best smells I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing, bar none.
Amazingly, this almost tastes as good as it smells. I get mostly the pineapple, guava, pine and blood orange rind on the palate. Definitely on the bitter side, with a very subdued sweetness keeping a delicate balance. I only wish I got a bit more malt character from it.
A medium light body and a crisp dry mouthfeel make these dangerous as hell, especially at the price of under $2.50 a pint.
I highly recommend this. I have a feeling this brewing company is about to blow up like X did a couple years ago. Cheers!
