Dark pour with a tall think blonde head that sticks to the glass wall. Taste of sweet malty goodness. Not as dry as most porters. Well balanced between carbonation and smoothness. Probably the best porter I’ve had to date.

4-pack of 16 ounce cans - $16.99 at Lucky's Beverage World in Woodstock, Georgia.

ON: 10/24/24

Appearance: Pours a very dark brown, near black body with a couple inches of whipped, khaki-colored froth. Medium degree of lacing on the way down.

Smell: Awash in cola are light-leaning notes of chocolate, toasted/roasted grain, dark caramel, nuts with little implied sweetness. It does sport a soft albeit flowing ribbon of dark fruitiness.

Taste: Minimally sweet. A surging taste of craft cola, of dark fruitiness (prunes, black currant) and a dusting of ultra-fine ground licorice powder. Dark, subtly roasted, arid grains akin to old coffee grounds. Dark caramel paired with unsweetened chocolate, any sweetness evaporates almost immediately. A dark maltiness with a fairly dry quality prevails through the finish.

Mouthfeel: Falls a little shy of medium-plus/moderate body. Medium carbonation.

Drinkability: A fairly solid BP.

Poured cola brown with a light brown to beige head, looks good.
The flavor is coffee with baker’s chocolate (not milk chocolate) with just a hint of bitterness. Warm leather rather rounds it up.
The feel is not crisp but not viscous either, something in between. Appropriate for the style.
OA, Baltic Porters are under appreciated, I think they should be far more popular.

Very smooth. I’ve had Baltic Porters from the region and this is comparable.
