Bratislavský Meštiansky Pivovar - Dunajská

I visited the Dunajská location of Bratislavský Meštiansky Pivovar a couple days ago. It’s a good spot; big, but with a welcoming old-world vibe. Lots of wood and tile, so that it’s got a warm kind of feeling. In the back of the main dining room you can see the whole brewhouse, which is something I always love.

Like many traditional breweries in Slovakia and Czechia, the selection is small: in this case, they have a pilsner, a dark lager, and a lighter lager (which they also call a pilsner on their English menu, but it’s a lower original gravity). I was impressed with the quality, particularly the 12º pilsner — they do know how to make lagers in Slovakia!

I sat at a little 2-top table and service was prompt, and my lack of any Slovak language was not a problem. It appears to mainly be a restaurant, though I didn’t have anything to eat when I visited.
