Dead Fall pours a rich reddish amber with a white head. The hop forward aroma is led by herbal, woody, and resinous notes with lingering citrus and pine. A warm alcohol aroma can be found on the tail end of the sniff. This full-bodied double IPA is unapologetically hoppy from start to finish. It reminds the drinker of the beers popular during the IBU wars of several decades back. The flavor bounces between woody, herbal, citrus, resin, and pine all on a semi-sweet malt base. The lingering flavor coating the tongue is a bright herbal, pine flavor. Clocking in at 8.6% ABV and 100+IBU, the aggressive nature of Dead Fall is a fitting host to the moniker preserved through time by an interesting moment in Clinton County history.
