Malt feet first
Ending hoppy bitterness
Carbonation leaves crisp fuzziness on the tongue
Malt is both unified and differentiated.
Wonderful layered cascading malt flavors best noted in larger gulps. Very very sessionable.

From notes taken 03/14/16:
Dull copper-toned bright amber topped with uneven, rocky, foamy tan head of decent retention. Faint dark fruit, caramel aromas. Basically a watered down, and more balanced version of RLA’s Scottish Ale, “Jack’s 90,” which in review I have described as having “Smoke, toast, biscuit, caramel, tart, tea, herb” qualities on the palate. The only thing missing would be the tea-like hop finish, substituted for very light floral/rindy hops and some light peppercorn. Also, this is lighter in body, more effervescent and prickly/fizzy, less smooth, more crisp than Jack’s 90. I don’t generally compare across styles like this, but I had their Scottish ale recently and they are honestly that close, and yet different enough. I do like this one better, though light bodies generally are my least favorite. Similar range, though.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours an amber color with a huge billowy white head of thick foam. The head has a fantastic level of retention, very slowly fading to leave a ton of fizzy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is of a sweeter caramel and lightly toasted malt smell. A little bit of a grainy and slightly bready smell are there as well and are mixed with some hints of dark fruit.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweet caramel and slightly bready taste with the bready having a bit of a toast taste associated with it. Along with these flavors comes some brown sugar and a little bit of a dark fruit taste. The roastedness increases at the end with the caramel fading a little bit at the expense of more dark fruits coming to the tongue. With a little bit of molasses joining the taste at the end, one is left with a sweeter and malty taste to be left on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is average in terms of thickness and creaminess with a rather average carbonation. Overall for the sweeter but more drinkable nature of the brew the feel is pretty good and makes for a smooth drinker.
Overall – A pretty easy drinking and flavorful brew.

A clear deep amber coloured brew with a small head of foam.
The smell is decidedly malTy with nice grainy notes and suggestions of fruit.
Dang, the malt character in this Alt is so delicious. Backed by a good grain bill and again, more than a hint or 2 of fruit which I find mostly in the finish.
Smooth mouthfeel. .I reckon I will buy more Glacier soon. A Very well crafted example of the style.

Dark reddish-brown body, crystal clear, with a decent foamy head; sticky lacing. Biscuit and cereal smell; roasted nuts; a subtle rye-like spiciness. Very grainy taste overall with a mild ester fruitiness and nice hop bitterness; graham cracker. Medium bodied with a dry finish.
A wonderful malty ale with strong emphasis on the grain flavors. Mild spiciness and fruitiness along with the crisp bitterness add some excellent depth and complexity to the overall taste.
