Well you can certainly taste the bourbon. First few pulls and it surprised me I guess I should read the entire label. Enjoyed with contra 2. Bought it at red lodge ales at midday. Such a weird vibe in there. Good beer though.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep amber color with a nice one finger head of thick white foam. The head fades very fast, leaving a lighter level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is rather strong of sweeter smells of honey and caramel as well as a decent showing of a toasted malt aroma. Along with these smells are some lighter notes of bourbon and a bit of a more musty like smell.
Taste – The taste begins with the roast and the sweet that were detected in the nose. The sweet was mainly of a caramel nature upfront with the honey coming on stronger more toward the middle to the end of the taste. The roast, all the while, lightens up while some lighter bourbon tastes come to the tongue. With a little bit of an apple and pear that join at the end, one is left with a sweet but smooth lightly roasty bourbon tastes to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is a little thinner for the oktoberfest and sweet bourbon tastes, but for only a 5.3 % brew the thickness is actually quite appropriate. The body in combination with the lower carbonation overall create a rather decent feel for the tastes of the brew and made for a rather tasty and easy drinker overall.
Overall – For the very modest 5.3% abv this was one very tasty brew. I very much enjoyed this one and will come back to this again in the future.
