A tribute to Red Lodge’s famous first sheriff, Liver Eatin’ Johnston, this ale is a dark wheat beer with a malty flavor.

Had on tap at Red Lodge Ales after a day of skiing the second to last day of the season (which was almost the weekend before), 04/02/16:
Deep caramel brown, some yellow to orange tints, quite opaque. Foamy beige to tan head, good retention. Smells tart, a little funky with notable cooked green suggestions. Strange. Ah, yeast! Sweet and malty to the taste, candy-sugar like. Considerably funky also, with herbal to flowery hops.. Surprisingly savory in the finish with black pepper notes. Some booze also detectable. Medium-bodied. Really creamy suds, but still prickles here and there.
