this was my favorite beer i had in here this recent trip to red lodge. its a wonderful ipa, brewed with honey, and insanely flavorful and fresh from the tap here, and this is among their best beer i have ever had to be honest. its got a radiant almost clear glow to it and a puffing white head. it smells a little floral from the honey, liberally dry hopped with citrus forward varietals, and quite light on the malt side, seems evident that quite a bit of the fermentables for this come from the honey. there is wonderful synergy between the honey and the hops here, big natural bright lemony tones marry in with some floral sweetness, dried herbs and grass, and a fresh weedy sort of thing too, frosted, candied, and dank. its oily like a west coast style, very overtly hoppy, but its dry hopped and low bitterness like an east coast type, and the hops are just so fresh and forward here, its kind of a mix of the best parts of both styles. the body is light for this being a little bit stronger, a clean cereal complexion from the malt, fermented most of the way to dry, and with just a little bit of a biscuit character to it. i love the linger of the hops here after a dry finish, and i like the lemongrass and tea notes that come back, this is really flavorful and good, super well refined, and scary drinkable for it being as strong as it is. really distinct and well crafted ipa here, the best hoppy beer ive had from red lodge to date! cool they are canning it too.

Clear golden body with medium head and great lacing.
Flavors are great, mulitilayered malt forward assault followed by floral and pine hops. General sweetness, from the honey (?), is the aftertaste.
Carbonation is medium high. Not inappropriate.
Surprisingly very good!

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Apperance -The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a one finger head of white foam. The head has a decent level of retention and slowly fades away to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell - The aroma of the brew is very sweet with a big showing of honey and tropical fruits. Along with these smells comes a little bit of bread and a touch of dough and citrus.
Taste - The taste begins with a sweet tropical fruit and honey flavor mixed with a bit of a doughy taste. Upfront there is also some flavors of a grapefruit and herbal hop, with the former being the predominant. As the taste advances more honey sweetness comes to the tongue, and with a increase in the herbal hop, one is left with a sweet, bit flavorful taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the brew is thick and chewy with a carbonation level that is average. For the mix of hop, sweet, and malt the feel is great and makes for one nice sipper.
Overall- Sweet and malty with a nice hop balance. Overall very tasty and drinkable.
