this is really basic pale, a well enough made beer and all, but next to all the other hoppy beer on their menu when i was recently in, it just doesnt measure up either in uniqueness or robustness, although as a lower alcohol, classically styled, still rather bitter, well refined pale, it does the job, i just wouldnt choose it again over all the other awesome choices they had that scratch the same itch here. its nice and clear and holds almost an inch of white head from the tap, a nice looking pint. aroma and flavor have some grain sweetness up front, lighter than medium crystal but almost without much flavor, just the sugar element, and then a solid bitter hop complexion thats similar in that its more alpha than character to me, but they come together well to yield a simple, drinkable beer that finishes pretty clean. im sure in isolation this would make a little bit more of an impression, as its professionally done beer with tidy finish, but on their draft list its lost on me perhaps. a slightly herbal profile to the hops as it warms, an underlying earthiness and minerality, and the carbonation never sags. good by any measure, just unexciting as they go...

Red Lodge Bear Tooth Pale Ale...
Appearance-pale gold color, nice large gold white head fizzes up with lots of lace, sticks around a long time even after settling.
Smell-fruit hop aroma, alcohol buzz, grass and pine
Taste/Mouthfeel-definitely on the hoppier side of the equation, pine and spicy hops, ok balance, very light and smooth, grass on the finish with just enough malt.
Drinkability-easy to drink at any time, light and smooth
Overall-nice beer, like the hoppy side and the lightness, great after a day on the slopes at Red Lodge. Well done.

A: Pours an amber/copper color. At first a two finger white head forms and recedes to a ring. Sticky spiderweb looking lace is left behind.
S: A caramel malty sweetness with some bread and biscuit aromas. Floral, grassy, resiny and citrus hops that balance out the nose perfectly.
T: Again, a great balance between the malt sweetness and hops. Caramel, bread, and biscuit that follow the nose. Piney and citrus hops. Grassy hay flavors as well. Tastes very fresh.
M/D: A medium body and carbonation. Sticky, oily, and soapy in the mouth. Very easy to drink. Something I can session without a problem.
I sampled this at Red Lodge tap room. This would be a staple if it was local to me. A highly recommended pale ale.

On-tap at the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone National Park.
Amber in color with an off-white head.
It has a lightly hoppy aroma with light biscuit notes.
Malt and hoppy flavors combine with a decent bitterness and hop aftertaste.
Its body is nice, hefty, not watery.
This is an easy-drinking pale ale. It's above average, but not great.

A: Pours from growler amber color, thick white head with lots of lacing down the glass.
S: Smells sweet and spicy, hay, citrus and spicy scents are very abundant.
T: Taste is very well balanced. Slightly malty up front with a nice grassy hop bite at the end
M: very easy to drink, nice mellow pale
D: went down very easy on cold winter day, can only imagine what would happen on a warm summer day.
