Our porter is black in color and has a roasted, coffee-like malt flavor. A favorite of those who enjoy dark ales and anyone wanting to try something different. Perfect for a cool Montana day!

a very classically styled porter here, tasty and simple and well done, i have not had much dark beer from these guys, so this was a nice treat at the brewery when i was in. its smooth to drink, i notice the texture almost before the flavor, a beefed up body but a dry finish and an appreciable softness about it, creamy even, really nice. the flavor is big on the roast with a little european crystal malt sort of sweetness in the middle to balance, a light chocolate layer runs through it and while its not overly complex, there are some espresso and raisin notes here too, and some detectable yeast as it warms, a little bit of everything, not too much of anything, and a pleasant earthy dark bitter finish that lingers and slowly fades. some deeper chocolate notes in the later stages, a hint of char, and black coffee, but a bready maltiness too. it has high drinkability for the style and is quite well made overall, even if there really isnt anything about it to make it stand out from the crowd. a good choice with their delicious nachos in here, recommended!

The brewery website says this is available in winter, but the can says it was brewed less than two weeks ago.

Anyways, it's an opaque black body with doughy off white, darkish cream head.

Flavors are balanced and subdued. Coffee, chocolate and some light medicinal herbs. Extremely smooth, very easy drinking. Very good!
