I just like the light bite if citrus. Better than Fresh Squeezed from Bend, OR. And I love Fresh Squeezed. Love that the ratings on the can are a mystery and they are awesome. My only fear is that this is seasonal and we will run short in a few weeks. We gotta get to Red Lodge. Just a short 4 hour trip. Bent Nail is my go to and my hubby cannot find enough Helio in town.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a golden amber color with a one finger head of fizzy white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving just a trace of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is mainly a mix of a bready and cracker smell with some hints of caramel and a little bit of citrus sweetness and some grapefruit and herbal hop.
Taste – The taste begins with a somewhat crackery and bready taste that has a hint of fruit tangerine and orange sweetness upfront. Along with these flavors comes some light herbal and grapefruit tastes which give it just a hint of hop. As the taste advances so to do the lighter grapefruit and herbal hop, which are joined by some other hop tastes of a light pine and earth. With the fruit sweet fading a little bit at the end, and the malt, sorta oddly seeming to get more potent, one is left with a moderately thick and lighter hopped (for a brut IPA) taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is actually sorta chewy for the Brut IPA style with a carbonation level that is normal. A weaker body and higher carbonation would have better for the style and would have given it a more crisp and refreshing feel.
Overall – Not really a great example of a brut IPA in my opinion. It was rather thick in body and bready flavors and lacked a good easy drinking and balanced hop profile. Not really my fav…
