Had on tap. Poured into a stein in Berlin
L: Pours a dark clear reddish amber with three fingers of creamy white head.
S: Malts and light fruits. Bready with mild hops.
T/F: Malty and slightly sweet. Toasted grains. Slight hop bitterness at the finish. Carbonated and a bit sticky on the mouthfeel.
O: A nice German dunkel. Easy to drink and a nice find while on vacation. Hood representation of the style. I'd definitely drink it again.

International Green Week, Berlin 2012: On tap at the brewery bar, 0.3 litre handled glass. The beer was an amber/brown colour, on top a well formed off-white head of foam that produced some good lacing as the beer drained down my throat.
The smells were malt based, caramel, nutty and toasted.
The taste was semi-sweet malts, roasted/toasted caramel biscuits and bready, very little bitterness, just a trace towards the end of each sip. I also got some vanilla type flavours as the beer warmed in its glass.
The body was medium to thin, but it is a lager based brew so that is to be expected I suppose, overall a very pleasant beer and coming in between a German Pilsner and a Slovanian Pilsner it made a nice change as the pace began to increase in our drinking.

Third of a litre, came in a Stackmann's glass. Red brown colour, hazy. Three finger head. Smelled of cherries and cranberries that were on the turn. Medium bitter with hints of smoke. Mouthful a bit sticky. I thought this was more of an Altbier but on ratebeer its listed as being a dunkle. Was nice but I won't seek it out again.
