Drank from a 16oz / 1 pint can purchased at Craft Beer Cellar, Belmont, MA
PKGD 10/08/20
Served in a tulip
Gorgeous appearance. The beer poured a hazy, canary yellow hue and was topped by a frothy, two-finger tall, bright white crown that very slowly dropped to a thick, lasting collar and a bubbly mass. A blanket of patchy lacing stuck along the glass and lasted until the drink’s end.
The aroma was fantastic. Tropical fruits dominated initially. Loads of ripe mango and papaya. Sweet but not excessively so. Citrus notes also came through strong. Tangerine perhaps. As the beer warmed, a weed-like dankness appeared and soon took over. Touch of grapefruit too.
The flavor profile was also terrific. Super hoppy and complex. Mango was noticeable up front. Some peach as well. Quite sweet overall. Juicy citrus notes were apparent as the beer moved along the palate. Orange and tangerine flesh came to mind. Candied pineapple appeared in the center. Some dankness too. Citrus peel took over on the back end and the finish. Orange and grapefruit peel specifically. Slightly pithy and bitter rind-like notes lingered after the swallow.
Excellent smooth, creamy, fluffy mouthfeel. Medium bodied for the style. The liquid contained a finely beaded, greater-than-average effervescence that felt light and frothy on the palate.
This was my first beer by Abomination Brewing, and it really blew me away. I typically think of Simcoe hops as being catty and resiny, but here they lent the beer some fantastic tropical and citrus fruit notes and a big weed-like dankness. I will definitely keep an eye out for the other variants in this series.

A- The 16oz can pours a very hazy, floury looking deep yellow brew into a snifter. The head forms quickly to just over a finger high with a thick frothy/creamy consistency. Great head retention and plentiful blankets of lacing.
S- Strong aromatics; I can sense tropical fruits emanating from the glass a few feet away on the table. Deeper inspection reveals bold tropical/stone fruit, dank, floral and citrusy hops. Ripe peaches and nectarines with melon, mango, pineapple, skunk weed, oranges and berries. All hops, very pungent with that nice balance between juicy and dank herbs.
T- Retains a lot of what the aroma did nicely leaning a bit more towards the dank herbal hops on the taste buds than in the aroma. The moderate sweetness here compliments the fruitier notes like the mango, melon and peach. Orange, bubble gum, papaya, guava, floral and onion hints. Getting a touch of oats, whole grains and bread but still mostly hop centric.
MF- Very silky and soft medium body. Downright smooth and very creamy, chewy feeling. The carbonation is on the high side and it ends with a medium bitterness.
Local craft store is getting more Abomination on lately and so far, so good. This brew has an expceptional aroma and mouthfeel with a taste that lives up to the nice aroma that sets the stage. Dank and juicy hop bomb.

Can to Snifter. Side by Side with Mouteka, Idaho 7 and Simcoe versions of Wandering into the Fog.
LOOK: cloudy hazy but bright yellow. medium to large off white head. great retention.
AROMA: pineapple, sweet potato.
TASTE: pineapple, palm, light grass, touch of biscuit/cracker malt.
FEEL: +++ on the smoothness, slightly lighter body than the other Wandering..etc. beers. So chuggable (but best if you don't).
OA: Simcoe comes out the top dog here, even though earlier I liked the Idaho 7 better. So smooth and the flavors make their way slowly.

First review as this is a newly released brew. Abomination Brewing is part of the 12 Percent Beer Project. It is a brewing guild that brews and distributes for up and coming brewers who don’t have the immediate capital to open their own facility.
May be an unorthodox review but needs to be known.
The “Wandering into the Fog” series from Abomination is absolutely fantastic. Phenomenal even. I’m having a hard time thinking of a downside to this beer.
It pours a gorgeous hazy pale amber color. Finished the pour (haphazardly, mind you) and still ended up with about 3/4 of an inch of creamy head.
This series of New England style of DDH DIPA focuses on only one type of hop at a time. This is a beautiful thing as it doesn’t confuse the palate. It allows the true flavors of the individual hop to shine. It is double dry hopped and magnificently done.
Smooth flavor through and through. I don’t feel a bit of the 8.6% ABV on this bad boy. Exquisite mouthfeel (lol Bob’s Burger fans) and a flavor that doesn’t quit.
This beer has easily made its way into my top 3 NE DIPAs; even if it’s only been on the market for a month or two. I highly recommend trying the other versions (Citra, galaxy, mosaic) if you can be lucky enough to find them.
DON’T PASS UP THE CHANCE TO TRY IT!
