16 ounce can into a snifter. Had 1/4/21.

Pours near black and opaque, thick looking, with a half inch head of darker foam and foamy lacing. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, light malted milk balls, light molasses, a hint of smoke. The flavor also begins with lush chocolate, then malt, vanilla, lactose, some malted milk balls. Smooth, creamy, a solid full body, well carbonated.

Pretty straightforward, but really well done. The chocolate is terrific and the lactose (lots?) gives this a truly creamy feel. Solid effort.

Released 4/12/20; drank 5/14/20 @ the Yarchives.

Black appearance.

A rough pour yielded a nice dark tan head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.

Cream, milk chocolate & faint raspberry notes in the nose.

Creamy, thick mouthfeel.

Vanilla extract, chocolate syrup & faint raspberry flavors; no booze heat.

Drinkable, but a bit artificial tasting. Not one I'll seek out again.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours nearly black, appearing opaque black in the glass with a thin brown head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of semi-sweet dark toasted malt, milk and dark chocolate, vanilla and a hint of coffee. Flavor follows closely with dark malt, fudgy chocolate, vanilla, hints of nuts and coffee. Lingering fudge and vanilla finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. They promised fudginess and that's what I got. One of the more chocolaty stouts I've had the pleasure to drink; there is a clear fudge character that is quite well done.Smells and tastes great. ABV well covered. Excellent dessert stout.
