16oz can poured into a goblet
A- pours black in color with a one-finger dark brown head that reduces to a ring around the glass
S- smells of dark chocolate, roast, vanilla bean, a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg emerges as it warms
T- cloyingly sweet up front with notes of chocolate, vanilla and marshmallow cream. Mid-palate brings out some light spice notes; nutmeg and cinnamon noticeable, perhaps a hint of clove? The finish gives more cloying chocolate and vanilla cream with some coffee-like undertones. Some cinnamon sticking around on the linger
M- medium-heavy body with moderate carbonation leads to a thick creamy mouthfeel that finishes chewy into a warming finish

Black in color with no light penetration. No head at all. The aroma is of cocoa and vanilla. I’m tasting cocoa, pumpkin spice, nutmeg, and vanilla. The mouth is thick, sticky and warm with alcohol.

16oz can from my brother. Near black pour, filmy beige head, solid ring. Aroma is chocolate, nutmeg, milky notes with some booze sneaking in late. Taste is sweet, roasty, savory (more nutmeg and allspice than cinnamon). The cheesecake is mostly lacto notes, although there is a little cream cheese character. Spicy bit at the finish hits at the same time as the alcohol warmth.

IME the main failure modes for pastry stouts are that they're incredibly sweet and trying to do way too much. By the name and description of this stout, I was expecting it to fall into this trap -- but this actually really works!
Poured into a tulip, dark as molasses. Viscous and creamy on the tongue. Not actually very "pumpkin" or "cheesecake" like. Cinnamon and nutmeg are nicely prominent, backed up by vanilla and cacao. Definitely sweet, but the cacao and those warm spices bring a welcome bitterness.

L: Pours dark hickory, forming a brief khaki head that is quick to fade. Some light effervescence forming in the middle of the snifter, with a faint lacing around the edge. Held to the light, a dark fudge.
S: Chocolate and pumpkin. Light cinnamon and vanilla. Faint malt.
T: Dark chocolate cake mix. Caramel. Pumpkin. Notes of cinnamon, vanilla, allspice, and trace nutmeg. Trace of coffee
F: Medium- to full-bodied. Thicker, velvety mouthfeel. Sticks on the tongue. A moderate level of carbonation.
O: A fine pastry stout. More spices than expected, which helped offset the sweetness. Big ABV is well-hidden.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, dark dark brown color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of pumpkin, vanilla, chocolate, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Sweet caramel, chocolate and pumpkin taste with vanilla, nutmeg and spicy cinnamon.

Pours dark as hell, sticky and with a creamy tan khaki head. Smell creamy, frosting, chocolaty goodness. Mouthfeel is off the charts. Creamy as fu$k! Taste is chocolaty, malty, creamy and I do get some frosting flavor which is probably from the cheese cake. If you turned up the pumpkin baking spices which are hard to find you would have all 5's. As far as boozy this one hides the %14 better than any beer I have every tasted. Wish I could throw some extra pumpkin pie dry spices into the batch to make this one perfect. So freaking close.

Just when you think that brewers have exhausted each and every idea of what to put into a beer, enter pumpkin cheesecake.
Abomination's Pumpkin Ale, Midnight Snack welcomes the vegetable and pastry in a stout that pours jet black and with the viscosity of tar. Floating a dense nougat-like froth, the scent of coffee and cream, pumpkin spice, chocolate and praline grace the nose before a first sweet sip of nougat, pastry and chocolate syrups make a mark on the early palate.
As the taste rolls along the middle palate, the creamy sweetness of meringue, malted milk chocolate, caramel and chocolate wafers remain front and center throughout the session. As the spices of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice and vanilla add a soft and soothing balance, the taste favors the sweetness even with the bitter cocoa and light smoky roast aids in offseting a touch of sweetness.
Full, plush and dense with malt, the beer is chewy and cloying with a long afterglow of pumpkin pie and coffee. Its a solid pumpkin stout that should be shared two or three ways with the sixteen ounce can. Its certainly a snack that drinks like a meal.

Head retention is inconsistent between cans, but in general, production is quite good considering the ABV and additives.
Nose features ... very little. Perhaps some dry pumpkin spice along with chocolate, but there's just not much there. It's not unpleasant, it's just unremarkable.
Flavor is about 120 degrees out from the nose. This is an incredibly rich dessert beer, with waves of chocolate, molasses, brown sugar, and caramel. Vanilla is a wonderful addition, and the pumpkin pie spice is nearly perfectly integrated - it's enough to notice it, without being so much that it dominates.
Thick and creamy on the palate, in particular on the back half. It's seriously like you're enjoying a flavored beer for part of the sip, until all of a sudden, BAM!, the cheesecake comes to play.
This is a damn good dessert beer. For all the kitchen sink nature of pastry stouts, it really seems as though every ingredient has a role to play here. They can't all be stars, but they're all important in the aggregate.

Chewy with a hint of pumpkin in the nose, lots of cinnamon on the palate. Finish actually brings a cheesecake note which is kind of impressive. Heavy duty and 14% but not as sweet as you’d expect. Still sweet though. Not a big fan of pastry stouts per se, been buying some singles here and there lately. This is obviously gimmicky AF but I’m enjoying it. Hard pour barely generates a head. Zero legs/lacing but just above still. Crazy that the review before mine from mere days earlier talks of an ample mocha head - I got next to nothing.

Pours super dark and syrupy, aggressive pour yields an ample mocha head. Nice retention. Sweet chocolate cheesecake aroma. Flavor is a little yeasty, boozy chocolate cherry, cream cheese, vanilla. ABV is noticeable. Slight bitter espresso finish. Pretty syrupy texture. Overall a fun pastry stout.
