No can date. Nice 2x milkshake/NE ipa with thickish haze; good mouthfeel for as light as it drinks; low hoppiness; a very subtle marshmallowy/citrusy/fruity flavor; not enuf lactose sweetness to stun a diabetic at six paces & a slightly lingering backend. Very smooth fooler of a 9.1%er.

Very unusual and interesting beer. From a tall aluminum can, this is a hazy orange color, murky, a bit dark around the edges, and with a medium-sized white head. The aroma is intense with citrus and vanilla. It does smell like a marshmallow, but one that is flavored with orange and lemon. Flavor is similar, sweet and full of vanilla and citrus. It is a heavy beer...full in body with a thick heft. Hides its ABV well. Very interesting.

Poured chilled from a can into a 16oz pint glass. Appearance is pale gold....hazy with visible carbonation bubbles on the outside of the brew. Lends a nice foamy 2-finger head that lingers and leaves some lacing on the glass.
Aroma is Chantilly cream....vanilla, creamy marshmallow, pineapple, tropical fruits, cotton candy, and grass.
Taste is sweet marshmallow right off the bat. Some malt, pine, vanilla. Even some alcohol.
Mouthfeel is medium-full and creamy. Some bitterness on the back makes it want to finish dry but it doesn't...this is sweet and wet.
Overall, this is a decent rendition of a dessert beer in the milkshake style. It is sweet for sure, almost a sticky finish... borderline cloying. Not bad. Wish it had a little more balance but maybe thats not indicative of the milkshake style.

I bought this one by mistake. Milkshake IPA is an unfortunate concept. To take something that is prized for bitterness and crispness and adding lactose to it is self-defeating!!! The saving grace for this beer was a greater than expected level of bitterness!!! Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer featured the standard NEIPA hazy yellow color with what looked like fruit sediment/particles floating in it. The white, frothy head was large with good retention and bands of lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste featured lactose, some citrus fruit and a decent level of citrus and floral bitterness. Mouthfeel was slightly sweet up front with a creamy lactose fullness. The bitterness then kicks in to somewhat salvage the experience. While I would not buy another one, you could have much worse Milkshake IPA experiences than this one.

Undated can into pint glass. Pours a murky brownish-gold with a modest but creamy white head. Great lacing. Initial impression is pink grapefruit, mango, and a touch of pine resin. Mouthfeel is soft and fairly clean. Finish fades to sweet citrus. Quite enjoyable!

-Double dry hopped with lactose and marshmallow.
A: A dense oatmeal colored head sits at two inches with a strong rate of retention. The oxidized orange juice colored body showed a thick and milky haze factor with noticeably sized chunks of yeast collecting on the vessel bottom. Thick sheet coating on the walls for lacing. The deep haze, bright coloring and dense head are reasons for outstanding regards.
S: Fresh and sweet nose, full of fresh peaches, apricot and marshmallow follow. Some cotton candy and pineapple are also noted. Tropical juice like of generous nature with some warming of fresh grassy hops cedar and fresh malty notes.
T: The initial flavor was sweet, peaches and mangoes is quickly balanced with a warming of double dry hops bringing a grassy-pine bite with dry tropical pineapple and citrusy orange twang. There is a mixture of cotton candy, marshmallow throughout, with a bitterness that is sharp, clean and quick off the tongue with a precise flowery hopped note. Soothing alcohol and hops mix on the close.
M: The mouthful is thick and creamy malt, softly carbonated with a soft and lush feel.
O: Overall has great drinkability, a fresh fruity start with a balanced and whopping double dry helping of flowery bitterness that ties this all together. Outstanding all around.

Impressive two-finger initial head that fades quite slowly and in a rocky fashion. Left behind are plentiful chunky spots and streaks that nearly form a full blanket. The "juice" looks like apricot juice--very cloudy with a brown/dark amber color.
Creamy and juicy in equal measure. There's a strong sweetness, but I wouldn't attribute it to lactose or marshmellows (as mentioned on the can). There's a creamsicle aroma to this beer--perhaps that's the lactose. This is a complex smell with elements of the pale malt and the faint hop is floral.
The sweetness carries over into the taste and creates a rich beer. The carbonation is "enough" to keep the beer from becoming too cloy. There is a notable malt base, slightly stronger than the smell. There's a sugary aspect to the beer. It's like someone added a couple of tablespoons of table sugar to an IPA. The bitterness is not present until the swallow is complete. This creates a well-balanced aftertaste.

Pours straw-colored yellow with a short-lived three finger head. Aroma is sweet, marshmallowy and reminiscent of fruit. Taste is light to moderately bodied, nearly perfectly in between sweet and bitter with a lingering marshmallow taste. This is very nice and delightful, causing this brew to go down quickly.

Lemme preface this by saying I don't think lactose belongs in beer and I'm both a dessert sour and milkshake IPA hater.
Pours a thick, opaque orange. You can't see through it. It absorbs light.
Smells like a TON of marshmallows and the milk sugar is evident. However, it's still very pleasant. Very much still a double dry hopped hazy underneath the marshmallow and cream.
Taste is where it gets me. I was expecting a cloyingly sweet, thick mess. I had previously tried some dessert sours from Tripping Animals and only finished them due to how expensive they were, out of guilt. I can't do extreme sweetness, and I think creamy flavors are hard to reconcile in beer.
Here's the but on this one: it's not actually very sweet. Up front, there's a hit of cream and marshmallow that I find delicious. It then backs off and fades into a dank-ish haze with long, trailing, mild bitterness. I love the combo. Normally, I find milkshake IPAs to be so much milk and very little IPA, but this one has the unique quality of being an interesting IPA that uses the sweet/dessert elements to create a very interesting evolution. It's not hiding the hop bitterness, it's just not starting there.
Nice coating on the mouth after a sip but not too much and a ton of carbonation. It's not a sipper. This one goes down way too easy and way too fast.
I bought this after I was driving home from a long day of good food and beer and ran into the owner of my favorite liquor store. He pulled out quite a few strange beers during our conversation and I sadly bought them all. This one especially I was expecting to be a mistake, but the only mistakes I made were not buying all of them and thinking my head is ok after it. It's 9% and there's no way to tell.

16oz can from Jeremy. Dark golden, hazy, thin head leaves lots of lacing. Lots of vanilla in the aroma, citrusy notes, creamsicle. Vanilla leads the taste, undercurrents of citrus, hops. Milky notes and some latent heat.

Absolutely beautiful beer for the style. Opaque and dark orange in hue, a restrained pour still results in a strong head, with fantastic retention. No visible particulate.
Excellent aroma as well. You can definitely detect the sweetness right away, but there are also lovely notes of orange, lime, lemon, mango, and pineapple.
Flavor follows. It's sweet for an IPA, but by no means overly so. The hops are entirely complementary to the malt base and additives; it's lush and juicy, with notes of papaya, mango, peach, and mandarin orange leading the way. Despite the restrained sweetness, the beer isn't balanced by bitterness; it's all late hop additions, with the very low bitterness that has come to be associated with the style.
Mouthfeel is phenomenal. Lush, soft, creamy, but short of thick or chewy.
