It looks like a green tea/lager hybrid. With the entire contents of a pint can emptied into a clear glass liter mug, a dull green-amber liquid shows. On top lies a very generous and lasting just-off-white head. There's some green tea and ale aromas to be had, including the sharpness of a hoppy ale. The taste is alcohol forward, with a sharp IPA bite and a little matcha added. Honey sweetens it almost annoyingly, as it's largely superficial and redundant, considering the alcohol and other flavors. That doesn't make this terrible, but it might be better without the honey. Actually, the green tea and a double IPA seem to work, especially since this DIPA isn't particularly outstanding in any other way. The sweetness is mitigated by a good hop bite, which gets assisted at the finish by a good dose of ethanol. Some nice glass lacing misleads, as there isn't much smoothness to the body. With this much ABV, that would be a notable accomplishment. This is a marriage of tastes that truly has potential, like coffee and stout. Although this isn't a bad attempt, there's room for improvement.

From a tall aluminum can with a strange demon on the label, this pours a murky green color. I assume it is from the matcha, but it is what I'd call a baby-poop green or a tepid algae color. I'm sure that I've never had a beer this hue. The aroma is odd...it is a mineral-like scent with a wet-earth smell. It is almost like the ozone after a summer thunderstorm. Unusual. The taste is sweeter than expected, and tea-like. Medium body and very unusual throughout. Wild, weird, and something completely different.

Poured into a goblet: color is murky Kelly green with floating particles; not your base IPA presentation but meets the description/titlw; head is off white and presents one finger thick, solid top lingers well.

Aroma is earthy, matcha, light honey, creamy note almost like vanilla, limited malt, light citrus.

Taste is similar and more pronounced than aroma - earth, match, honey sweetness, interesting smoothness, low/no malt, light citrus.

Mouthfeel is lower carbonation, low/moderate sweetness, some moderate bitterness with warmth.

Overall a very cool spin on the flavor added IPA - this can is aged but still holds its own with the match / hop / honey character.

Murky toxic looking green color with a decent off white head.
The aroma is matcha and honey with some citrus and pine notes. The taste is earthy matcha, caramel and honey with grapefruit and lemon, mildly sweet, slightly tart. The finish is dry with some lingering pine resin, moderate bitterness.
The body is medium, good level of carbonation, very well hidden ABV, smooth and dangerously drinkable.
Altogether, this is a very pleasant and enjoyable brew, tasty and refreshing, could go well with most foods, especially spicy oriental fare, but very nice by itself just for enjoyment, very well done.

The pour is kelly green with a load of sediment both probably from the matcha green tea adjunct. The taste is bright & bold matcha green tea upfront followed by some honey sweetness. In addition to, there is also some piney hops & mild grapefruit notes. The 9% abv is well hidden. In general, this was my 1st Matcha IPA & it was a good one at that. Cheers! A-

Pours a pale Shrek green with an opaque transparency, and floaties at the bottom - looking something like an ogre's swamp. Head is a finger and a half of white foam. Aroma is honey and matcha right out front. Lemon grass mingles with melons and citrus fruits for the remainder of the aroma. Semi-sweet. Flavor profile is back to matcha immediately. Honey is present, but more at the back. More sweetness than flavor from the honey. Remainder of the flavor profile is citrus, melons, and melon dew. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. Texture is creamy and semi-soft. Overall, really wild mixture of things here and yet it somehow works together.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegelau tulip from a 16oz can. Reviewed from notes. As of this writing (halfway thru 2024), this is the most interesting beer of the year I've had.

Pours a nasty, hazy neon green with a long lasting white head and floating particulate. Smells like a typical juice bomb, sweet and citrusy but really not much scent at all. Taste follows the nose, with decent citrus and tropical fruit flavors alongside some interesting earthy vegetal and herbal notes. Finish is slightly bitter with a residual honey flavor. Great mouthfeel, simultaneously slightly coating but crisp enough to not be cloying.

My precious Abomination Brewing hazy was good but straightforward. This one is complex and quite interesting, and while I normally dislike heavily adjuncted IPAs, this one felt like the beer was good before the matcha and honey were added. Quite a fun drink and the color is impressive as well. 9.3% ABV completely unnoticed, and I drank it far too quickly.

Edit: forgot to mention the coconut character is swallowed by the hop flavors but is very slightly present to smooth out the transition between very sweet, earthy, and bitter.

From the can, it pours a hazy chartreuse with a nice greenish tinted white head that slowly reduces and leaves lacing - a bubbly sinus infection according to a friend. The nose gets orangey citrus. The mouth gets a nicely flavored slightly sour lightly bitter and even slightly sweet - a touch of honey is noticeable - brew. Alcohol is well hidden here.

16oz can.

Pours opaque green with minimal head or retention.
Almost pungent nose filled with candied citrus.
Medium bodied witha tacky, syrupy mouthfeel.
Sweet and a bit strangely flavored from the heavy does of green tea. Sugar-dusted chlorophyll.
Finishes sweet and quite unique.

Toxic Earth from Abomination Brewing, Company, North Haven, CT. 16 fl oz can from a trade with @woodchipper. Reviewed 09/07/23 (Review 3136). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Stamped on can bottom in tiny font “04/03/23”. Stored at 34 degrees at home. Served at 53.4 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 64.2 degrees F. The can was rolled several times before opening since matcha is to be consumed.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Bud Green (Hex #7BB661), opaque.
Body – Same. Under direct light, same but with precipitate. When rear lite, same.
Head: Large (Maximum 4.5 cm, aggressive center pour), wheat, high density, quickly diminishing to a broken bubble ring and a thin, partial cap.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 4 –Weak honey and some hops. No yeast, no malt. No ethanol (9.3 % ABV according to the label).
Flavor – 3.75 – Slightly sweet from the honey and a bit of tea flavor with a little hoppiness. Unfortunately
no coconut flavor. No yeast, no malt flavor. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Slight gastric burning.
Palate – 4 – Medium; slightly creamy; soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 4 Decent DIPA, although I would prefer a brighter shade of green. The honey balances the extra hops ameliorating the bitterness and the coconut, while contributing little if anything to the flavor, helps the honey smooth out the edges. The matcha, while it’s there, contributes little but the color. Overall, a bit of a novelty beer but one that’s enjoyable in itself.

The green macha color is off-putting.
Apart from that, great DDH IPA. Smells sweet and pungent, tastes strongly of honey.
Big fan of the Earth series.

Poured from a 16oz can stamped “04/03/23” to a Nonic at fridge temp.
Green, green, green. Did I say Green? Green and opaque with lots of floaties and zero head. (The wife asked if those floaties were yeast or coconut). Honestly, I can't tell.
The aroma is very herbal, grass, coconut, and machete debris from the jungle (what?).
Taste is surprisingly okay. Coconut and tea (as advertised) but it's quite pleasant. The coconut has a processed taste, almost like in a Mounds Bar, but not quite that sweet.
The mouthfeel is fairly thick. There is carbonation, but I think it could use more.
This beer is quite a trip. If you don’t like coconut it's not for you. If you have nightmares about Soylent Green it's definitely not for you.
Interesting, but I drain poured half (somewhat due to the ABV because I have more beers to go).
