Brewed with Spelt, the pour to empty a pint can into a clear glass liter mug is much like a wheat-laden brew. Not surprising, as Spelt is closely related to wheat, if not just a variety. Unfortunately, the shared characteristic that's most noticeable is all the stark white foam on top of the beer. Just like when there's too much wheat in the wort, the foam recedes unevenly and unattractively. It leaves sparse and irregular lacing behind. The body is dirty blond, both dull and dank looking. The aroma is largely bread-like sweet, with almost no contribution from the hops. The Spelt adds something like a Graham cracker taste, grainy sweet and also a little earthy. The good part is the sharply piney hop bite during the finish. The relatively high ABV is a very nice part of the taste. Unfortunately, they are the only good things about this one. Somehow, the mouthfeel is both thin and sticky at the same time. Maybe it's the less than familiar Spelt inclusion, but something here just doesn't work. It doesn't taste nor drink terribly, just oddly. The foam eventually condensed into an enduring head and the glass lacing improved. Perhaps a worthwhile try to expand taste experiences, but doubtful it's something that will have you craving more.

Very nice double IPA, Abomination knows how to do this well. Hazy, almost milky golden pour, thick off-white head. Nelson and Citra work well together, with notes of white wine, lime, green grapes, sharp pineapple.

Oats, Golden promise, Spelt, DDH with Mosiac and Cashmere hops Citrus and melon hop flavors, fresh hop cone depth with a smooth earthiness from the golden grains. Crazy smooth, fresh and crisp feel with a dry, earthy hop complexity that goes on for days

Excellent head production, retention, and lacing. Opaque and murky. For the style, it's a beautiful brew.
Intensely hoppy aroma, almost sharp. Overripe stone fruit, grass, dank herbs, even a bit of mint.
Very tasty on the palate. Nothing particularly new or innovative, but a very solid take on a super hoppy NE IPA. Very herbal, which perhaps should be expected with both Nelson and Citra in the mix.
