Prepare yourself because the optics are not good. This sour double IPA is the greenish-brown color of raw sewage and the sparsely bubbled head can't wait to disappear. But summon up your sipping courage because the flavor pay-off isn't bad. Fogsicle from Abomination has many flavor variations; the one I sampled was with cherry, lime, blueberry and raspberry. The multi-fruit flavors blend well giving you the slightly sour mostly sweet taste of a red white and blue popsicle. And under the fruity mix is the lively bite of hops, presumably from a double hopping process. Don't know if I'll come back this way again but it was an interesting experience.

Not my style for an Imperial IPA at all. The creaminess, sweetness and marshmallow all take from the crispness and bitterness I like in an Imperial IPA. Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer features a hazy, apple cider yellowish/tan color and a fast fading bubbly white head. Minimal lacing. Aroma and taste feature peach syrup, vanilla, lactose and a strong sweetness possibly the marshmallow). The flavors all go together, but there is little that could be called IPA anywhere. Mouthfeel is smooth, rich and creamy with no bitterness or crispness at all. Probably a fine brew for those that like this sort of thing, but not a style that I enjoy.

A little hoppy, a little sour, a lot fruity, Abomination combines what's best about their sour smoothie ale and their hazy imperial ale for a melange of flavors that's the best of all worlds.
Pastel and golden-orange, Fogsicle tops off with a fluffy white meringue before teasing the nose with tartness, citrus, herb and cream. Sweeter with a sense of cereal, powdered sugar and sweet cream, the malty-sweet upstart is redolent with taffy, sherbet and shortcake.
As a balance of more natural citrus, cider and white wine offers a sense of balance before the overcast of tangerine brings its smoothie-like intensity to the tastebuds. A rounded taste of vanilla, cream and marshmallow brings the full culmination of dreamsicle before a step into a more herbal, hoppy and smoothly bitter direction.
Finishing briefly tart, the acidity of white wine, green apple, lemon and lime seem to take a backseat to the hops and their own tropical, citrus and sprucy taste in balance. An afterglow of sourdough and potpourri comes with the orange perfume in brief echoes in the retro-olfactory senses.
