Poured into a goblet; color murky green, dense looking, head is off white and presents 1/4 inch thick, some lacing.
Smell is quite subdued - tough to pick up much in aroma, light matcha earthiness but no real hop qualities.
Taste is more as expected for the riff on style with matcha - earthy, leafy, matcha like, then some citrus, sweetness (maybe honey or melon like) light pith, earth, some light biscuit malt.
Mouthfeel is low carbonation, moderate sweetness, low bitterness for the style.
Overall - a thought provoking brew - wonder if this would be better at a lower strength or at least compared with something at lower strength; matcha is unique and provides some quirkiness to a HIPA that seems light on malt flavor to force the match forward.
