From the pint can, it pours a dark brown with a modest light brown head. The nose gets chocolate, alcohol and something that comes out a bit musty. The mouth follows with a sweetish chocolaty brew with additiional odd notes. Honestly, not my favorite, but it is drinkable, preferably with dessert, most likely chocolate.

A big chestnut head holds three inches for a few minutes before breaking up to form a large matrix of golden bubbles. The head eventually settles to a thick blanket. The beer itself is black with dark, red, mahogany highlights. Some sticky lace is left on a Pretentious Glass Company Pub Pint.
The aroma opens with strong, cocoa powder. Chocolate fudge and natural peanut butter come out in the middle, while warmth produces strong graham crackers.
The roasted malt comes out in the flavor, however, bakers chocolate overpowers it as well as the graham crackers and peanuts. This is far less sweet than expected. The finish is mild and short. Warmth brings out cola flavors.
A watery texture and full body unexpectedly allows residual sugar to build on the lips. The alcohol is as expected, and the carbonation has a modest fizz.
This was enjoyed on a late, sunny and cool summer afternoon. This could easily be presented as a brunch dessert beer.

16 oz can from the Abbey Taproom in Greensboro, NC.
This full-bodied stout has low carbonation; too low to raise a head. The aroma and flavor are the big disappointments. I found it to be too sweet and over spiced.

Pours a dark brown color with virtually no head. Aroma of marshmallow and graham crackers. Taste is sweet chocolate and vanilla. A bit of alcohol warmth at the finish despite a lower ABV.

From a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this one is engine oil brown with a tiny amount of small brown tan foam that quickly fades to nothing. Nose of very sweet malt, sugary, some vanilla, marshmallow, dark chocolate, maybe some peanut as it warms. In the mouth, very sweet; I would say too sweet, with some hints of 7% ABV peeking through. Most of the complexity that could be there is overwhelmed by the sweetness. Mouth is pleasantly viscous and thick with slight carbonation. Ovall, good but a tad too sweet for me.

Aroma is a mix of roasted malts, slightly burnt toast and a hint of BBQ smoke. The flavor is chocolate, a hint of vanilla/BBQ smoke and an acidic/roasted malt/slightly burnt toast/mildly sweet finish.

An absolutely fantastic lactose stout. Smells and tastes like delicious s'mores. Feel is even more impressive - just thick enough, savory and very drinkable.
