The pour is very dark, with a medium brown head that dissipated to fast to get a photo of it. No lacing, but not unusual for a 14% stout.
The taste is, interesting. Certainly the elements of a stout are there but not much in the way of pumpkin. Spices are quite evident, most of all cinnamon. There is nutmeg and allspice and lactose (which is normally a feel not a flavor but obviously there are exceptions) and some element that causes the feeling of mint but not the flavor. Not sure how else to describe it.
The feel is very appropriate for the style; lightly viscous. Maybe a little to light, I drank it faster than I probably should have.
OA, a pastry stout that isn’t sweet, an imperial pumpkin stout with no discernible pumpkin and yet it is still quite good.

Pours black as tar with a tan, thick head. Nose to me was cinnamon and chocolate. Taste was same with cocoa added. Slight bitterness on palate. ABV was not as evident as expected.

Just because we grow up doesn't mean that we grow out of the desire for treats. And with Abomination brewers, its all treats and no tricks.
Trick or Treat kicks off with an espresso black appearance and topped with a creamy sheet of mocha foam. As the strong scent of dark roast coffee, cocoa, fall spice and savory caramel are all equipped with the boozy scent of rum. Heavy malt sweetness greets the tongue with blackstrap molasses, burnt toast, espresso and baker's chocolate in a smoky, burnt and heavy char. Cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and ginger rise to balance the sweetness with those fall spice medley, a broad and woodsy bitterness follows for a sharp balance and a boozy finish.
Full bodied, never pastry-like and seeming fruity in finish, the combination of toasted sweetness, rummy booze and dark fruit all lead to a jagermeister finish and aftertaste.

Poured into an Elysian pumpkin snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a somewhat fizzy, three finger milk chocolate head that dissipates quickly at first, but leaves a thick, persistent cap with solid lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, Mexican chocolate, vague pumpkin pie spicing, some pumpkin and vanilla.Flavor is dark, moderately toasted malt, Mexican chocolate, mild pumpkin, pumpkin pie spices with allspice the most noticeable and vanilla. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess and nice mouth feel. Right on the heels of fresh hop season starting, it's pumpkin beer time. Pumpkin beers are divisive, but I'm in the pro camp for those with actual pumpkin character; not so much those simply flavored with spices. This one has mild, but distinguishable pumpkin and a very nice stout body. The spicing is appropriate for pumpkin pie, and well balanced so that no particular spice pops out except cinnamon, which gives this the Mexican chocolate character. I'd go for a little more pumpkin flavor, but the overall balance is good. This is a very nice pumpkin stout.
