Millwood/Spokane Valley outpost of Whistle Punk Brewing. The space was formerly Millwood Brewing Company.
Unlike WP's longtime downtown Spokane location, this is more than a taproom. Beer is brewed on premises, although WP has not, I believe, forsaken the use of their not-publicly-open brewery in Newman Lake.
Unlike the downtown taproom, the interior is not dog-friendly, as Washington law does not allow for the presence of dogs inside an establishment that makes food. However, well-mannered dogs are permitted on the patio outside the entrance. Inside, it's a little more cramped than the downtown taproom.
The taplist is similar but usually not identical to the one at the downtown taproom. WP brews a wide variety of styles from lagers to IPAs to pastry sours. There's been no change in quality in WP's beers since they've opened this space. The beers are generally excellent.
Unlike the downtown taproom, where food is not offered (although it has a symbiotic relationship with Heritage, the restaurant next door within the same building), food is available. The server will hand you an electronic device (or you can use your own phone) to order food. When it is ready, you will receive a text, at which point you walk to the building next door and pick up your meal. The menu is primarily made up of pizzas, but salads are also available, and sandwiches are offered during lunchtime. The food is of pretty good quality.
Service has always been pretty outstanding whenever I have visited, same as the downtown location.
I'd call this the best craft beer option between Spokane and the state line.
