i really don't know what else to classify this as. i'm just following the lead from the similar tsingtao dark.
EDIT: FYI - ratebeer.com lists this as a schwarzbier
the head doesn't retain too well, nor leave much in the way of lacing, but i don't have a "real" beer glass here, so not exactly the best judge of that. color is a dark cola-like brown, transluscent with amber hue.
aroma is more burnt grain and medicinal than anything else.
taste follows suit, slightly burnt malt, with a caramel sweetness that for some reason just makes it taste like medicine again... mild bitterness, not much freshness in the hop profile.
mouthfeel is sharp and fizzy, not entirely pleasing.
drinkable if you're looking for some variety in china, but my advice is to just stay with the regular yanjing offerings if you have a choice.
