A: Pours a cloudy light colored hue with a small thin head.

S: The aroma is light as well with hints of wheaty grain, sweet lemon, orange and spices showing thru.

T: similar to the nose, but the spice was a bit more prominent in the taste. Rather light yet enjoyable brew.

M: Light in body, yet somewhat slick in going down.

D: Very light brew, yet very enjoyable. A good representation of the style.

A fairly thick cloudy cardboard color with a good fuzzy white head and goodly rings of lace. It has a classic bready citrus aroma. I note a nice steady carbonation, fine and refreshing. The flavor includes mild peppery notes over a tastey rye bread. There are notes of subtle clove, and citrus although this one was served with a lemon wedge which makes that aspect hard to judge. It has a solid feel, a bit chewy. All in all this is another simple but very pleasing white ale. A smidge below my assessment of Hoegaarden on tap which I found creamier than this one, but very enjoyable and I could drink a dozen of 'em!

A light goldenish color with a thick foamy head.
A smell that is sweet with hints of cinnamon.
The taste is very nice with a good amount of spice and fruit notes within it.
MF is crisp with some hops on the lighter side.
This white ale is quite good and impressive from a Long Island brewery.

I have to agree with what others have said, the worst beer I have ever sampled from this brewery, hands down. I tried this twice too, just to be fair, once at SPH and once at the Blind Tiger in NYC. Anyways...this is a cloudy yellow brew with a nice white head that lasts long enough. The aromas are of coriander, yeast, and thats about it, this beer smells pretty bland if you ask me. The taste is bland as well. Spicy up front but completely hollow and with a nasty finish and cloying after taste as well. The mouthfeel is medium bodied but too yeasty for a wit (almost like a hefe instead) and the drinkability was not good at all (can you say I left a few sips in my glass...?). SPH is definately one of my all-time favorite US brewpubs/breweries, but this one was a big let down. I mean c'mon know Phil. The double white is absolutely amazing! What happened here!?

Went to SPH for my boyfriend's birthday and got a glass of this with brunch, thinking it would be a good beer to start the day with. Well... it wasn't. Should've gotten the porter, closer to a morning coffee.

The beer looked nice, pale cloudy yellow with a tiny bit of a white head. Smelled wheaty and spicy, but it was a bit subdued.. Tasted pretty bland actually. Like any good white beer- orange-lemony flavour with a bit of spiciness, but the beer was way too cold to really get all the flavours out of it, if there were more. Mouthfeel, like I said was cold, also way too fizzy. I'm not used to a white beer feeling like soda. Drinkability is 'average' because it's not terrible, it basically is a normal run-of-the-mill white beer, but the carbonation and temp. were just off, so I wouldn't make a habit of drinking several glasses of it in a sitting.

On tap at the Blind Tiger NYC, pours a light shade of cloudy yellow, white puffy head, moderate lacing observed. Citric,lemony yeasty nose. Lightish bodied, smooth on the tongue. This is a typical tasty, light,lemony, moderatly spicy and refreshing wit. Nothing amazing but a solid take on the style.

At the Blind Tiger in NYC, this is a nice looking beer. Solid 1 finger head that holds for the entire glass, and laces beautifully. A nice citrus hits the nose, not too much, really nice and solid. The taste is nice. Somewhat bitter, but a well balanced aftertaste. Solid. Not overly carbonated, but feels nice. Solid. This is a very, well, solid effort. I could have had a number more.
