Copenhagen 28/1 2019. 50 cl bottle from Østerbro Vin & Spiritus (formerly Gunnar Madsen Vinhandel). Classic painting of Christian 4 missing one eye on the label.
Pours murky light brown with small white head. Settles as thin patches of foam hanging on to the side of the glass. No lacing.
Aroma is sweet and smoky. Sweet caramel sugar and a wet smoky odor. Some peat from the whiskey. Almost drowning in the sweetness.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, flat, sticky texture.
Flavor is quite sweet followed by a modest bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with smoky hints.
A very sweet and moderately smoky beer. Could use a little kick and burn from the whiskey but it merely peeks in without much ado.
