3/3/21 dated tall can, direct from the source in Sunny side Queens about a week ago.
Respectable looking hazed up pour, and leaving a long lasting frothy cap. Then ample sheeting all over the glass.
Mild pineapple on the sniff.
Pleasing sessioner, with more ripe pineapple coming forward first, then some soft mango, lime and kiwi notes begin entering the party...well worth a try.

Purchased from Alewife about 4 weeks ago
A: Hazy orange with no lingering head
S: Pineapple
T: Grapefruit, peppery
M: Spicy, slightly drying mouth feel
O: Wow, quite the bitter session ale. Like biting into a grapefruit rind, not a whole much else going on. I guess I can say it is somewhat refreshing.

A: Poured from the can into a Piraat tulip/snifter-type glass. Body is hazy orangey with a small whitish head that leaves a little bit of lace.
S: Good nose - brown sugary malt foundation is followed by citrusy hops.
T: Whoa - the look and smell outperform the taste here. Bitter grapefruit and pine and something that's off. May be diacetyl, as I get a sweetness and slight slickness washing over the palate.
M: Thin and somewhat watery.
O: Not impressed. Pouring this one out.

A: The beer is very hazy dark yellow in color—too hazy to see if there is any visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that gradually died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of grapefruit pith are present in the nose along with notes of caramel malts.
T: The taste follows and is dominated by bitter flavors of grapefruit pith and has underlying notes of caramel malts.
M: It feels medium-bodied and somewhat crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The aromas and flavors of caramel malts in this beer remind me of those from a craft IPA from the early 2000s, but these aren't as prominent in the overall smell and taste given the dominance of the grapefruit pith.
Serving type: can

On tap at Bar Great Harry, Brooklyn.
Hazy amber gold; powdery tangerine nose; slight toffee, big C hop citrus with some grass + pine; crisp + light.

Old school. Nice, easy, average. Well executed, at least. “Hoppy but sessionable,” say Dorothy.

On-draught @ Alewife.
5.20% ABV.
Sludgy and pulpy, failing to refresh. Too muted and stale to be juicy. I get expired Odwalla juice, warm pineapple, and tropical sludge. Has alcohol warmth as well.
I suspect Alewife has draught line issues given the sludginess of this beer.
A troubled beer with a poor hop profile. Not an IPA I'd get again, and as my first beer from Alewife it has be skeptical about the brewery as a whole.
D+ / NOT RECOMMENDED
