Native Americans alone domesticated nine of the most important food crops in the World, including corn. More properly called maize (Zea Mays), corn now provides 21% of human nutrition across the globe. To highlight the importance of this plant and the culture that domesticated it we've created a potion in honor of the corn people, the Mayan civilization. We offer up what we feel could have been their beer, lagered for 34 days and brewed with South American corn. Salud!

A: The beer is relatively clear light yellow in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that left a small patch of bubbles on the surface and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of corn are present in the nose along with hints of grassy hops.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of corn with notes of pale malts and hints of grassy malts. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied (but not watery) and clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: Compared to other adjunct lagers, I thought that this beer was well crafted as it wasn't watery and had enough hops to contribute some bitterness and mask any sweetness.
